Let me get this right. They jack up the only significant expense the company has (a ridiculous, bloated wage bill) and guarantee its level and therefore the financial performance of the company into the distant future. Then they say that foreigners need not apply. As if foreigners were stupid and there was any danger of one of them paying the Government good money for the privilege of losing money forever.
Then they say they want to sell it to a Bahamian. I hope there aren't any that stupid or my worst fears will be confirmed.

If, overall, the Bahamian people were not a bunch of inveterate cheats who don't account for anything (and whose accounts are complete works of fiction) AND if the Revenue people could count up to 10 (which they cannot), the solution would be quite simple.

But since they know who they are dealing with...we are stuck with this.

Oh, I think they realize all too well. God forbid Bahamians should find an easy way to make some money!!!!!

They would become independent of their political masters and not subservient to them!! Who needs that??? Not the politicians for sure!!!

Have the Haitians made a success of Haiti? Are they successful in Miami? Have they been successful in Abaco or anywhere else in the Bahamas? Or this planet?
If we truly need "hundreds of thousands of more people to make the Bahamas grow and produce" let's get some Swiss. They seem productive.

Not how it works. Bribes are paid only when there is competition and you want to win something below market price and over a better bid. In this case there was no competition. No one else wanted this burden. What would you pay a bribe for, in this case? You are effectively already doing the Government a favour. They should be paying you.

Believe me, they would much rather see competent black faces. Because they are much cheaper. They are also non-existent.

This land has been for sale for 15 years. It is derelict. An eye-sore. What, precisely, has stopped you or any other Bahamian, including the Government, from buying it? You didn't have enough time? It seems you don't like a market economy. Easy solution: Cuba is an hour's flight away.

I knew there had to be a good reason why Bahamians eat exclusively Kentucky Fried Chicken as opposed to conch and fish.
