You are so right. If only we could ensure that all politicians had to spend at least 10 years off island before accepting any responsible position and learnt how the real world works, we would have hope. Now, there is none. All gone, as you say.

Question: why do you need to build it on New Providence? 155 acres in one block is problematic for New Providence, but absolutely nothing for Andros. Just run a cable from there to here.

The product of generations of negative selection (anyone with 3 brain cells emigrates to a better job) and a D- schooling system. We are the intellectual equivalents of the gene pool in Marsh Harbour.

Such as? I doubt Brent can open any door apart from the Lyford Cay Club. If one wanted to go there. Awful place.

And that is probably the most economic solution. If someone cared about the consumer. Which they don't. The problem is what to do with all the BPL staff that would make redundant. The fact that we would be totally dependent on the USA is not a real problem....because we are anyway. They can do with us as they please, when they please. Our independence is only a figment of our imagination, anyway.

All I can say is that luckily the commentators here are all black. Because imagine the uproar if a white man had said half of the things written here.
And don't tell me that it has nothing to do with race, we only want the law to be upheld. That is precisely DJT's argument and you don't seem to buy it when he says it...

As always, you have to ask yourself who benefits from the status quo and how we got here. It is certain not the Haitians. If they benefitted, they would not be living in shanties or running drugs. No, the people who benefit are the ones exploiting the Haitians. The ones who use their labour and do not pay them minimum wage or National Insurance. And we all know who they are. They are a handful of Bahamians. The PM should simply call them into his office (and there will be plenty of room for them all to fit in there) and tell them that as of tomorrow everything changes or THEY go to jail and all their assets will be frozen. Immigration and Education problems solved. But since these guys have financed every political campaign since 1973, that is about as likely to happen as a Bahamian landing on Mars next week.

Privatized? LOL. How stupid are you, Bannister? Yes, private capital is well known for wishing to acquire money-losing assets in heavily unionised companies which suffer from huge political interference and where you cannot collect receivables. And which require billions in new investment on top. Tell the truth: you could not give it away. In fact, even if you gave the bidder $100m, no one would turn up. Tell the truth, Bannister: BPL has huge negative net worth. It will never be privatised because no one of repute will ever want it.
