This Bahamian against Haitian talk is distracting us from the issue; there are Bahamian's struggling in shanty towns too aka the ghettos of the Bahamas. The issue is affordable housing and livable wages. Improving our economy, improving our work force training, improving the opportunities in our country should be the focus. Haitians come here in search of a better life; their goal is not to destroy but to build a better future. Most of our Caribbean black ancestors arrived here through the inhuman practice of slavery we are a small nation of ~350k while most modern city's alone have populations in the millions. We need to stop hating one another and realize we're all brothers an sisters who need to work together for a brighter future. Government is a reflection of the people not the savior; it's up to us to improve.

Without this program I wouldn't have been able to afford to get my University degree. Once I obtained my degree I prioritized paying off this loan and did so within 2 years. It was possible through strict budgeting; too often persons aren't willing to live a financially humble lifestyle to pay off the loan. Now my younger sister is trying to get a degree but without this loan the family is finding it very difficult to support her ambition. These persons need to be strictly punished and forced to pay. They are effectively stealing and preventing the youth from having this opportunity.

Why "black Bahamians"? All races of Bahamians suffer from irresponsible and reckless social and economic practices. We need better education and respectable conduct from our civil servants and government officials. The people need the leaders of the country to hold them to a higher standard and the children need respectable role models.

Disgusting Elliot. I am proud that this Officer stood his ground and did not succumb to Elliot's threat to abuse his power to punish the Officer.

Redirect these efforts to fighting poverty and keeping our people safe. Marijuana is legal in 9 US states and soon to be legal in all of Canada.

This is ridiculous. We need to move together as one for the Bahamas. So much wasted effort to defame each other. Campaigning should be left for election time otherwise work together regardless of political affiliation to improve our country. What was said isn't politically correct but don't get distracted from the issue. Collecting a wage for a job you aren't doing is harmful to the country.

Where are all of these details documented? We need transparency. Even Oban Energies website is sparse for a multibillion dollar company. How do they staff their company? No recruitment on their website.

I support an oil refinery however I cannot trust the Government to protect our environment and negotiate a deal that is favorable to all Bahamians.

I agree JB357. Tax the bad habits (smoking, gambling and junk food).

It would be unreasonable to charge a toll. Considering $50/day is above minimum wage $10/day (round trip) in tolls for a daily commuter would be a significant burden. Family Islands need more power over there local economies. Each island needs a primary industry and not tourism as it creates a country of servants.
