This Haitian Government 'Official' makes no sense! Do they realize the millions of dollars spent on illegal immigration by the Bahamian Taxpayers? Now they asking us to reward them for breaking into the country, stealing electricity, burdening our health care system while they burn down their own country? The intent of the local Haitian leaders and their Government are so obvious, anyone who can't see it must be blind. This is ridiculous! Any compromise on words spoken by our leadership about vacating shantytowns will not only be seen as weak but will open the floodgates of illegal immigrants illegally coming to our shores by the boatload! They live among us, they have infiltrated our government and arm forces, the Haitians have a plan for The Bahamas that they are actively working on daily, can't say the same for our Government leadership for the past 40+ years. Keep compromising, Judgement day is coming.
All 'European Colored Americans' are not overtly bias or racist, however, many choose to be especially at this time, I've lived there for more than 10 years, America is what America is, many of us just have our head in the sand and "drunk' on America's strategic 'soft power'. I've heard through the grapevine that the Mississippi of The Bahamas is Spanish Wells, I was told never to visit and definitely never to let the sun go down while you're there if you are one of what the Europeans labeled certain humans with natural carbon: Black. But racism today is different than the 1950's, today we're dealing with the carbon copies, the book readers of history, so racist can be anywhere, we live in an information age, many are just using it to make themselves feel superior and to accommodate their individual lack of [natural] superiority and shortcomings. But there is a pendulum shift currently going on and much of todays actions are being recorded in the history books, there are two things mankind cannot stop no matter how hard they try, many of us may/may not live to see it but time and change WILL happen no matter how we feel about it, evil may strive for a while, but good will always win. I wish peace and love to all who believe in good.
I think recent Confession from an American Agent, confirmed many of our suspicions about the MURDER of Robert Nesta Marley aka Bob Marley. I enjoy electricity, however, I don't know how it works, scientifically. I do know, however, that you can cook a man's dinner with electricity and you can also cook the man.
KUDOS to the Bishop, he is absolutely right!!! This is what I expect from the church. K.P seem to be immune to the struggle of the average Bahamian citizen.
IMHO, It's quite understandable why native Africans think that way about Western colonialized 'Blacks', "As a man/woman thinks so is he/her" most belief systems are an illusion including many in the African Continent. Every belief system requires one to be 'saved' or converted into THEIR way of thinking to be accepted, so for "Westernized blacks" we just need to shed the thinking and indoctrination of our colonialist masters, ...well that's until you get 'saved' to the current African belief system and realized they're suffering from colonialism too.
When we ignore the titles of our political leaders and many leaders in our Bahamaland, when we see/search their business dealings and affiliations, many have a huge conflict of interest as it pertains to the legalization of cannabis. Many have stocks in businesses and industries that are in DIRECT and indirect competition with cannabis legalization; this includes people in very, very powerful and influential positions in our country and Government. As 'woke' citizens we need to call them out, we need to not support their business/industries, we need to call them out on their hypocrisy! This is not about some jobless thugs smoking some 'roachy joint' on the side of the road, our country is sick and our citizens are dying because of the same reason why cannabis was made illegal in the first place prejudice and GREED! Not everyone has the disposable income to fly to Miami or seek expensive treatment even here in our Bahamaland. Even when one of their own former colleague (Phenton) took an absolutely brave stance by going public with his disease and spoke openly about Cannabis saving his life after many medical doctors told him to go home and die, we still have our leaders spewing reefer madness rhetoric. This is very prideful and unfortunate. Genesis 1:30
