Reverend Kemp, that may all be true, but Geoffrey Johnstone seems to have accepted the new reality and done his best to work within it. Ingraham's endorsement speaks volumes, as does that of the new PM. People can and do change and grow. RIP.
Agree Banker. Trump has plumbed the depths and abandoned all standards of decency. Symonette may not have been keen on Clinton, but it's totally unacceptable of him to endorse Trump. And let's not kid ourselves. The real message from Trump was "Make America White Again." I don't think Symonette had much of a chance to be Bahamian PM on account of his own whiteness (let's be realistic, there's a certain amount of racism in the Bahamas too) but he has just dealt himself completely out of the game. Deservedly.
I remember years ago an inter-school swim meet, when all the kids from all the schools were mingling healthily by the poolside - except from the girls from the girls' school who were in the changing room smoking and giggling. Don't know what the boys from the boys' school were doing, but probably the same. Being around large numbers of the other sex appeared to be freaking them out.
The real world is composed of both sexes, so it's best to all grow up together. Where I'm living now, the government is run by men who all went to private boys' schools, and they couldn't be more sexist or out of touch.
Sickened (why?), It's a curve ball these people have been given, for sure. The Lord does move in mysterious ways, and maybe this is a test for us to just be tolerant and kind and support them in their journey.
Bluefin tuna is on endangered lists everywhere and that one will never breed again. I hope every square inch of it gets eaten at least and it doesn't just end up on a wall.
Mr. Edgecombe, I can assure you that environmental vandalism is not the international image that is going to help the tourist industry of the Bahamas. The negative publicity from these photos is going to scare tourists away.
