Do people, or countries, have a right to exist?
Those who support Israel no matter what are morally lost.

Porcupine says...

Yup. Right on.

Porcupine says...

Yup. Just like the shock treatments for depressed people and drug addition.
Stats don't lie.
They don't work.
We keep looking for a quick fix.
Nothing replaces good parenting skills and a robust social safety net.
We don't seem to believe in the hard work required.

"Having a say in how it is run" doesn't translate in being a bully.
The world sees clearly who the US really is.
Sometimes, just sometimes, perhaps we could stand on principle, and not just money.
All eyes must be on minimizing human suffering immediately.
We must understand the reason for the UN in the first place.
Seems we missed history class and all events since its establishment.
I am starting to believe that most Christians are ignorant and confused.
I do not believe that might doesn't make right.
The world order, as presently exists, needs radical and fundamental change. It is happening, while the US kicks and screams, and kills millions worldwide.
We continue to worship mammon, expecting different results.
Decency in our world is waning.

Porcupine says...

Another way for corruption to flourish.
As we see elsewhere, as if we didn't know ourselves, the police and the judiciary are the greatest dangers to a democracy.

Quite clearly, something went very wrong in Bahamian society decades ago.
Hence the results we witness today.

Porcupine says...

Excellent statement.
And, exactly right on what is going on.
Silence is betrayal.
All it takes for evil to persist is for good people to remain silent.
We must speak out on the atrocity presently occurring in Gaza.
The Palestinians have a right to resist the occupation of a foreign military, just as the international community has said for decades.
Listen to Nelson Mandela's position. It is all available on the internet.
Thanks for publishing this call for human decency.
This is what is being asked here.

"Mr Watson delivered the keynote address at a ceremony celebrating World Consumer Rights Day, using the opportunity to speak about the advantages of AI, particularly its advantages to consumers, listing industries such as medicine, transportation, scientific research, and finance, adding that AI technology can help towards the world’s most pressing challenges."
With all due respect, what AI has done best thus far, is turning consumers into the product.
Quite clearly, we are over our heads.
I am sure Mr. Watson means well, but quite obviously hasn't done his scholarly homework. The most recent warnings over AI by some of the world's foremost AI developers certainly suggests we should be treating AI as much as a possible threat, as embracing it as a pot of gold for those at the top to benefit from.
