$600,000 is nothing compared to what The Bahamas spends weekly on employees and MPs who do absolutely nothing, yet get a fat paycheck and a pension on top of that.
Were we to audit with a fine toothed comb, the Bank of Bahamas, Water & Sewerage, bpl, btc Ministry of Works, Ministry of Health, and on and on, we would realize that the Bahamian taxpayer has been supporting theft, fraud, corruption, and unsustainable inefficiency in every sector of our government.
Anyone who cannot see this, and does not agree with the above statement has no place in any management or leadership position, anywhere. Full stop.

Of course politically victimized civil servants have recourse.

That we are even considering allowing this company to step foot in The Bahamas is proof positive that we truly have no future.

For all practical, and honest, purposes, BOB went belly up.
You don't lose a couple of hundred million without finding out where it all went.
Since there are very few consequences for bad behavior here, we merely are following precedent.
Dishonesty is now normalized throughout our country.

Since we have no freedom of information here, we will not be warned of when BOB takes down the rest of our country.
NIB money is at very high risk, along with our credibility, or what's left of it.
Bottom line. BOB went bust due to poor and corrupt management, and the taxpayers of The Bahamas have to eat the losses.

Or, we could educate people, which is shown to solve many, if not most, of our most pressing social problems.

So, we demand financial regulatory relief from the EU.
Our PM stands there all proud and righteous to ask for (demand?) money to combat the effects of climate change.
And, we are taking out loans and grants to do the things we should have done years ago.
Family Island clinics are worse than "dire"
One Family Island clinic just temporarily moved, again, after 8 years now of having begun renovations at the old clinic. Now, it sits in utter disrepair. The problem with moving is that someone forgot to move the phone to the new location. No phone. No calls to the temporary clinic. Not even a cell phone contact. We are jokey.
As far as climate change reparations go, we have known about what is coming for decades now. Just like we know what causes these NCDs.
Bottom line is we don't read, we don't plan, and most importantly, it seems we just don't give a shite.
Our government is a reflection of who we are. Why would we demand more from this government than is available on any street corner in Nassau?
Politicians are bullshiters. Most every one of them.

It is difficult to even begin where you are so wrong on so many points.
Let's start with the idea that a monarchy, any monarchy, should exist in 2022, outside of fairy tales.
Have you looked at the overall stats on Britain's quality of life indexes?
Do you realize that many people will be dying from the cold and hunger this winter?
Remember how much of the world Britain controlled? How much money, loot and lives they stole from the rest of the world?
And, where Britain is now? Looking good over on that side of the pond to you, Young?
Reaganomics and the Thacherite TINA neo-liberal assault on humanity are only held up by those who refuse to open their eyes to see what these "policies" have done to their people.
Further, economic inequality is now know to be at the root of so many social ills, health ills and the crumbling of democracies around the world.
How ignorant or greedily dishonest do you have to be to ignore all these major "discoveries?
No Mr. Young, you are given a voice because you represent the 1% and nothing more.
Voices like yours are the very ones standing in the way of human progress.
