Expecting someone else to pay the tab, and because we Bahamian, we get half.
Makes perfect sense.
Why don't we use some of those billions we've collected from our national lottery.
Oh, I forgot, we gave that away to someone else.
Or, some of those billions in excess liquidity that our bankers talk about.
If, we are serious about investing in our country's future.
Think again.

Perhaps a cap on government travel and waste would benefit a greater number.

One can only laugh.

"The thrills of power as minister, with the luxury travel, the obsequiousness of some officials, the headiness of sitting at the cabinet table and in parliament, and all of the other trappings, can mesmerise and send one into a drug-like euphoria."
A drug-like euphoria indeed.
And, all this time I was wondering what went wrong.
Now, I see clearly.
Take little people, give them power, and we get a Bahamian parliament completely removed from the people.
Thank you Front Porch.

Everyone who spins in The Bahamas, before and after it was legal, has funded this development.

It is amazing how a group of really, really stupid people have taken control of this country.
From the Office of the Prime Minister to the Department of Inland Revenue, where are there any thinking people?
If they understand what they are doing to this country, what is the reason?
Are they really just stupid, or do they just not give a shit?
It is difficult to read the paper and not feel sick from the destructive devices being set before the Bahamian people. Well, at least those who actually produce something of value, for the lawyers and the politicians to suck away.

Porcupine says...

As a people, we have become thoroughly dishonest, ignorant, boastful and uncaring.
We have become cold, unable to even imagine what the bible actually means. Our partors have remained stuck in their ignorant, untutored, "I is man" mentality which is clearly evident in our laws and behaviour.
What qualified, intelligent and decent person is going to sit down with a Brave Davis or a Hubert Minnis and take them seriously?
What decent person would ever interject themselves into the sordid state of Bahamian affairs and disgusting political little people?
The Bahamian people have proven over and over again that while we certainly deserve better than the political crap we get now, we have made little effort in producing intelligent, caring and vocal leaders capable of completely turning this ship around.
If I didn't know better, I would say that our population basically mirrors the political class here. We don't care. We don't believe anything can change. So, we may as well join one or the other disgusting political parties here so that we can get what little falls from the table of these over-fed, brain dead so-called leaders.
Hope is one thing. Educating and rewiring the complete moral compass of a nation is quite another. Simply read a few of birdie's comments and tell me how smart and educated we are as a nation.
So, where would these "leaders" come from Mr. Murrow?
Certainly, they are few and far between, if they exist at all.
Personally, I think most have already fled, seeing the writing on the wall.

The political process, the pastors and the professionals such as defense lawyers have managed to so twist the meaning of words, have so managed to dumb down our entire population, that if Jesus Christ was running for office we would reject him completely and entirely.
The very fact that Davis and Minnis.are in politics, and that people listen to them, believe them, and think them visionary leaders, says all we need to know about the future of this country. I know of no politician in The Bahamas who is not self-serving. Our parliament has a below average IQ, few to no morals and laughable integrity.
We have managed to chase away the vast majority of educated, thinking and decent people and given our children no reason to return home after school.
The criminal class runs the this country, from the police force to the entire political process. We have become a cesspool of moral ambiguity and compromised values.
Anyone who doubts this is simply not paying attention to the abundance of evidence and the social ills that have fully infected this nation.
Mr. Morrow, you call it silly season. I call it a SAD season, because many of us would like to see our children have opportunity and a comfortable life in this country. This entire PLP administration is rotten to the core. They have little regard for the Bahamian people and for the future of this country. They only seem like they care about themselves.
It is not just sad, but rather disgusting.
