The last thing The Bahamas needs is another "internal" investigation.
The entire governing class of The Bahamas, starting with the PLP needs to be wiped clean off the map.
Start fresh. No harm done. The percentage of miscreants at the top is far, far too high.

Porcupine says...

We are still paying 4.7% for loans already spent. So, we are saving a few percentage points.
A cause for celebration? Seriously guys? So, you can siphon off a few million for yourselves and pass along some to environmental organizations. Wow!
Mr. Halkitis, please tell the Bahamian people exactly how much money leaves these shores each year solely to pay the interest on our loans. Money that could be going to improve the lives of Bahamians.
You guys are simply leading the people on by continuing your borrowing, spending like drunken sailors and with almost no real understanding of economics or our financial situation.
I honestly don't trust anyone in this government. All of you are compromised. All.
The vast majority, I repeat, the vast majority of Bahamians are living paycheck to paycheck.
All because of bad personal choices, Mr. Davis? Or, could it be because of ignorant and corrupt politicians?
The PLP is a bad joke on the Bahamian people. KB said it best. "Jokey Leaders"
Climate change mitigation efforts? Really? Did you "environmentalists" read the fine print?
Do you really think we are moving away from extractive industries Ms. Ingraham?
Do you really think we are ahead of the accelerating sea level rise curve? Do you read and understand the science? Do you realize the sea surface temperatures are killing coral reefs globally? That our corals are already decimated? You do understand this, right?
Be specific. Just what is this money, savings on our interest really going to buy? More money for your foundations. That's it. Nothing substantive is coming from the global community, besides some little money. COP whatever it was, came to nothing, again.
We need a radical revolution in the way we think, the way we do business, the way we educate our kids, and the way we worship money. Short of this radical revolution, it is simply more of the same bullshit coming out of our know-nothing politician's mouths. Nothing more.
Bahamians are still punishing. Every one of our state-owned enterprises have already failed. Our infrastructure is an absolute joke. The riches of this country benefit only a handful. We practice nepotism unabashedly. We say we are a country of laws. Nonsense. Drive our streets. Look at the crime, the dishonesty of our politicians, our lawyers, our pastors. At best, we are a pirate nation. At worst, we may soon find out.

Why wasn't the debt wiped out?
Why are we still borrowing?
Why haven't we been teaching conservation in our schools?
Why are our fishermen still devoid of any conservation ethos?
Why are these organizations and our politicians still profiting from Bahamas indebtedness?
Why do our politicians continue to get away with the lies that they tell us?
Why does our educational system fail year after year?
Why are these initiatives dependent upon debt refinancing?
What has stopped us from protecting our resources and people prior to this money grubbing initiative?
What does our Prime Minister know about our marine environment?
How many years of his life has he spent on the water or studying marine biology?
Why are the Family Islands in such a poor state of affairs?
Why is The Bahamas leading most nations of the world in murders?
Why is 500 - 600 million dollars leaving our shores each year simply to pay interest on our loans?
Why is their no transparency from this government?
If there is a Debt for Nature swap, why isn't the debt wiped out, instead of refinanced?
Is this not a move to remove Bahamian resources from Bahamian control?
Is there a politician in The Bahamas we can trust?
Is there anyone in a leadership position in The Bahamas we can trust?
Is money the only thing they care about?
Is the love of money not the guiding force in this "Christian" country?

Now, he can move from General to MP.
This is the test, yes?

You write well, however, you are wrong on many counts.

When fools run a country.
Ms. Adderley proves that she is uneducated, as all studies show that capital punishment does nothing to reduce crime.
Furthermore, she likely even calls herself a Christian, forgetting? "Thou shall not kill".
So long as we continue to elect uneducated and ignorant leaders, this is what we will get.
Were our leaders willing to significantly increase funding to education and family concerns, work to uplift the working poor, and significantly tax the rich, instead of always trying to pocket as much as they can for themselves, perhaps we would see an improvement in our terrible terrible crime statistics.
Of course this takes true leadership, vision and education, all of which are sorely lacking with no improvement on the horizon.

Porcupine says...

Please, please, please, get the useless PLP out of office.
They are literally destroying this country.

These companies should spend a few days going back and reading our papers from the last few years.
They may wish to sell their products here, but they should stay far, far away from doing any business here.
It is not a business-friendly place.
For anyone, including Bahamians.
Stay away in you wish to keep your sanity, your health and your money.

I agree. Why allow a bunch of know-nothing politicians to have a say in economic activity.
Allow the free market to work.
Based on competition.
Yet, anyone who tries to do business in this country is up against an utterly failed and flawed system. We see it, and hear it, everyday.
