Hard to look at the objective facts on the ground: of crime, educational outcomes, rape, deaths from non-communicable diseases, murder, obesity, widespread and ubiquitous national corruption, racism, unclaimed children, gangs, dishonesty on an industrial scale, large numbers of unemployable kids, and the wholesale misunderstanding of the bible, and not see some sort of connection, hey?
Bottom line: we don't give a shit.
Try calling any government office.

On many of the Family Islands there are power outages, water outages, the phone and internet going down for hours at a time. This is on a weekly basis. Many islands have no hurricane shelter, no clinic, no bank, no intelligent and educated leadership or literate pastors. I am told it is still better than the way it was 50 years ago, when our parents had to use candles, draw water from the well and look at the sky to forecast the weather.
When our so-called leadership is ignorant and alliterate, what hope does a community have to move into this century? None! That's how the PLP and the FNM operate.

Yup. Money talks, justice walks.

The best thing Mr. Mitchell could do for The Bahamas is to leave these shores.
His thinking and ethics are exactly why The Bahamas is in the state it is in.
My God, if you can say, as Mitchell has done, that there was no corruption involving the Bahamian government with regard to Baha Mar, Freddy either takes us for ignorant fools or he needs to check himself into Sandilands.

The only way to stop crime is to stop raising criminals.
The only thing we seem to abhor here is the truth.
So, long as we have forged an economy based on making the rich richer and keeping the working class down, crime will continue.
So, long as both parents, or one, must work 2 and 3 jobs to simply stay alive, we will have kids raising kids and will reap what we sow.
Our education system has failed because we talk the talk but don't allocate the required resources.,
We are only about short term gratification and our politicians can't see past next election.
The D- education system is a spiral downwards, showing up most clearly in the quality of the politicians we produce.
Who honestly believes that killing one person is worse than killing a nation, as our criminal politicians have, and are doing?
In any decently run and just society, many, if not most of the current administration would be in jail.
Am I lying? Think about it.
