I just looked at the listing of the top 20 reinsurance companies in the world, only two are Germans. I am sure that their competitors will gladly take up their market share in the Caribbean.
They blacklist us, they lose the business, that is fine by me. Maybe the EU gets a call from Munich Re that the blacklisting is resulting in lost sales. Since the EU is heading into a severe recession with blackouts, I would not be surprised to see them begging for our business in one year.
Ian will unfortunately have an impact on insurance costs, but that has nothing to do with the EU.
The only people holding this economy above water are the rich who come here, invest in properties, buy cars, go to restaurants, go shopping, and set up their business here like FTX. And the government does not always make it easy for them, just go ask the Izmirlians...
