Bring back Loretta, at least she saw the writing on the wall

I would not be surprised, but the re-introducing VAT on breadbasket items would hurt the poor most.

Proguing says...

If Davis lowers VAT to 10%, he will be able to claim his own Moody's downgrade, and they won't wait until the next election!

VAT is not only the largest source of income for the government, but it is also the most reliable as it is collected by the private sector. Davis knows this very well, since VAT was implemented by the PLP. The new PM must already be regretting his campaign promise.

You need to change the title to Happy Days for the PLP....

Can you please inform us why the PLP legalized gambling after Bahamians voted "no" in the referendum?

I wonder if Nygard said again "we took the country back" from his jail?

Halkitis where der VAT money gone?

Proguing says...

There is nothing more useless in this country than die hard PLPs like the two above or die hard FNMs. The writer conveniently omitted that the last PLP government put in place VAT, the “unfair regressive tax” he has been bitching about for the past few months...Now please remind us why the PLP was voted out of office in 2017?

Have the began renovations on the Melia? I don't see anything taking place contrary to Sandals.

I think the timing of the downgrade is fishy indeed. It appears that Moody's was trying to avoid revealing the true state of the country's finances before the election. Was Moody's willing to wait until May 2022, had Minnis wanted to stay PM for a few more months?
