It should always be noted that when a member of the political class makes a statement like this, they are almost never expecting anyone in their class or other "elite" classes to be subject to the Constitutional abuses they suggest may be needed. They expect these abuses to be meted out on the "criminals" - aka, the poor or the lower social classes - the classes that are already subject to such abuses on a regular basis with no immediate recourse. If this man became subject to the same treatment he claims might be needed, he would be screaming bloody murder and accusing the government of trying to intimidate the Opposition.
This is what China wanted from the start and they in fact are not even making a secret about that fact. It was the game plan from ground zero, and the government who is in bed with them is faciitating it. Once that bed catches a fire though, they will be nesting in their comfy Swiss Bank accounts while the rest of us are left to try to save the crumbling wooden structure of a country that the burning bed is in.
So law abiding citizens should lose even more of their freedom already impinged upon by crime, for criminals who will not be made to pay for their crimes anyway. And this is the man who hopes to be Deputy Prime Minister of The Bahamas? Everette Mackey needs to put some more people in Hitler drag.
What troubles me is whenever the question is put to FNMs about what they would specifically do to address the nation's issues, they almost never give definitive answers - all they do is spit out generics or repeat your question to them back to you. If you cannot answer, it is because you do not know. And if at this stage you still do not know...
Is the Tribune serious with a headline story like this, quoting someone on a completion timeline who as absolutely zero to do with the development in any way, shape or form and who cannot speak to such a thing with any authority and does not even have inside or institutional knowledge thereupon? Slow news day perhaps?
This story is very lazy reporting by the Tribune. So the Tribune wants us to draw the conclusion that because a server might be running, that automatically means the radar was functioning at all times?
This entire radar matter has fallen prey to lazy reporting, even by those who broke the story, because none of the media houses actually delved into the salient issues with respect to weather reporting for The Bahamas, the capabilities, the process, etc. The matter became political and then salacious fodder and as usual, the actual critical issues at hand never got touched or properly analyzed.

And that is exactly why nothing is changing in this country - everybody who knows better is remaining **quiet**.
