That is actually not correct. The Baha Mar deal commenced under the PLP's 2002 term, and was bourne out of Christie literally begging Sarkis to do the project.
Strange that comment in this story is missing by three key persons - the Danish company who can say whether Miller is or has been a consultant for them in the past, Gibson who was allegedly sent this letter, and Davis who is the Minister responsible and unless was also sent a letter we don't know about, was strangely left off the letter mailing list. Insofar as the broader picture is concerned, I wish these Union officials would stop withholding information on wrongdoing they claim they have unless and until an official does something to piss them off. So many claims about alleged activities on the part of the Chairman are in the public domain and the Union claims to know and have proof of these things, yet the information says hidden until a war of some kind erupts.
What is just as bad as the charade over this matter, is that the FNM claims not to know the full story. What happened is not a secret in so many sectors that it is almost impossible for me to believe that the FNM does not know the full story, especially since the full story involves an even bigger scandal that headlines members of the Cabinet and has nothing to do with Stellar or even Wells. Does the Opposition's Leader truly not know or is there a reason he won't say?
Now finish the story Renward. Tell them how the reason Brave was angry about any positive consideration Stellar may have gotten was that he is the person behind the company that took over the New Providence landfill, and he did not want Stellar to have access to the waste that would become the waste they would use for their waste to energy plant if such a plant got approved.
And tell them how the DPM's team had only the back page of the LOI (with the signatures) leaked to the press but the press never had the full LOI, though it went ahead and reported the propaganda it was fed about the LOI without even having it in hand to know what was actually signed.
And tell them how the DPM got out ahead of this story because he was angry that the PM gave you the go-ahead to sign an LOI that had the potential of leading to a conflict with his money he is getting from the landfill deal, hence the scandal that he orchestrated to pressure the PM to stand down about the LOI.
I'm still embarrassed for him over his "VAT holiday" announcement and his announcement that the FNM is creating its own fake VAT Unit now, since apparently he thinks it is the Opposition's job to run a body-double of an actual statutory government agency.

Actually, VAT is 7.5 cents on every dollar, not 75 cents - but who's counting right!
