Dont stop now Tribune, go right down the road to the Courts and pull the files on the case the Weissfisch brothers had against Brave Davis that Davis asked the courts to seal before the 2012 General Election so that the country couldn't know what was going on ahead of election. The case was dealt with from around November of 2012.
Been saying this since they released the draft of this VAT Bill last year. The powers being given to the VAT Comptroller (previously termed "Commissioner") are unconstitutional.
Only a simple majority is required to pass a referendum measure, meaning there is no minimum voter turnout requirement. If only 200 people vote in total, their decision will be the decision for all questions on the ballot
Haitians? What does giving Bahamians equal rights in their own country have to do with Haitians? Why is it that Bahamians are so xenophobic that everytime their own rights are to be fought for, they see a Haitian boogeyman hiding in a corner?
Christie did not say the FNM is not ready, he said Minnis is not ready, and that is 100% true. Minnis is posturing because of his neurotic desire to become Prime Minister. In that way and several others, he and Christie are exactly alike, dying to hold the title and convinced it is their life's destiny to hold such a title. It is not the country they care about, it is a title.
Clearly Minnis knows zero about governance in our system though he used to be part of a government. I find it very curious that Minnis, while claiming Wells is a fall guy, is not calling for the resignation of the Minister responsible, who is Brave Davis. First of all, Wells is not member of the Cabinet and did not have lawful or Constitutional authority to sign that letter of intent with an investor, so he must go regardless of the facts behind it. Secondly and more importantly, the truth to fact is that whether Brave Davis knew or didnt know what happened, under the Westminster System, he is responsible for all matters that occur under his portfolio whether they occur with or without his knowledge, and so it is actually him who should be removed from office whether Wells goes or not, yet Minnis is not calling for the Minister's resignation.

Not true. There is no percentage requirement. However many voters vote is who will decide the outcome in a referendum.
