Would somebody please stop this man? He has zero understanding of the Constitution and also clearly does not know the difference between "the law" (i.e Statute) and the Constitution. The review of boundaries must take place at max every five years, after which point the report shall be submitted to be laid. The Constitution does not say each report must be tabled on the same date every time, nor does it state a maximum or minimum time frame for such a review. The reason for this is we do not have fixed dates for elections; we simply have maximum time frames for the length of a term. And since the provisions of Article 70 call for consideration to be given to having, as much as possible, a relatively equal number of registered voters per constituency, the work of the Commission would be affected if the registration numbers are both low and disparate from Constituency to Constituency.

I would ask who his advisors are, but regardless of who they may be or if they exist at all, it is clear this man is grossly deficient.

Actually she appointed him because some washed up political surrogate with an axe to grind told her to, but such is Bahamian politics.

Publius says...

I can do nothing about your ability to comprehend what I say. That is not my responsibility once I write in a clear and cogent manner as I have done. It is not the politicians' responsibility either, ironically.

And because Butler-Turner is such a petty, fraudulent individual who cares nothing of the national interest, she is probably happy the Senator she appointed has done this.

Further, this is what the Upper House has come to, and there was no outcry for it. The personalities involved are irrelevant. What matters is what was done by this Senator. Where is the outrage? This country is lost.

Right!

It is amazing to me how we automatically go to everyone other than ourselves to address the issue of the breakdown of the family. If I get someone pregnant and I am not the father that I ought to be, that is not a politician's fault or responsibility, it is mine. If a woman has a child and the same applies, no politician is to blame for this. What we are seeing is a breakdown of the family, and of morals and values in the society, and that stems from the home in the first instance. Children are coming into this world with no guidance, no rearing, no boundaries, no sound, strong examples of what and who they should aspire to be. The streets and television are raising many of these children and we are seeing the results. What we see politicians do and get away with is a by-product of who we are as a people and the prevailing mindsets in our society.

> Well done politicians on both sides.

I get your frustration, but we have no role, primary at that, in how our own children turn out? It is a PLP or FNM's responsibility?

Does Lloyd know that they now say over 5,700 people in total have applied since Monday? It seems Lloyd was more interested in making the snap point that he was on the Baha Mar team under Izmirlian instead of waiting to see what the total response would be before commenting. He is overestimating the level of struggle out there and how that would affect the decisions people ultimately make. People who need jobs are invariably going to apply. Yes, there may be some who may decide not to because they don't want to get shafted. But that will only be a minority of people. It is just like the many who have signed temporary contracts with the government. Clearly the contract says they would only be guaranteed work for a few months, but don't they take the job anyway? These guys in politics really need to get in touch with how the average Bahamian truly thinks and sees things.

He is referring to men committing murder over relationships with other men. There are no women wanted for the murder of other women at this time. The community knows of what he is speaking. It is one of the reasons he paused during his remarks, blinked tellingly and then said "at one time we did not want to believe these things were happening but it is real." There would be no need for him to say that if he was referring to the usual domestic-related murders we see happen. Families getting involved in relationship issues is a regular thing.

This headline is a complete misrepresentation of what the Commissioner said. He said:

> He urged family members, friends and associates of serial criminals to “turn them into police before you become targets”.

He was not telling the wanted men themselves to either surrender, or become targets.
