Rollins is being disingenuous. Many persons who have expressed constituency-based discontent with him do so due to his representation in the area or lack thereof, and they question what he does with the monthly constituency allowance he receives. That doesn't fall to the government, that explanation falls directly to him and he alone must firstly provide the same and account for the use of public funds in that regard.

> would-be coup

And I wish to the heavens that today's reporters had some actual knowledge of their country and its Constitution. Votes of no confidence are foundational democratic organs and one of the highest methods of accountability within the legislature and the executive in our system. Do these reporters even know what a coup is? Our educational system, politics and the media - the unholy trinity in dumbing down the population.

I am saying I know this not to be what actually took place. Beyond that, look at what she has now done to her fellow colleagues through this fable. She has now painted them as the problem MPs and herself as the hero who tried to save the day. It is a shameless lie and a lie that was nowhere near necessary in order for Butler-Turner to try to make her case to the delegates or whoever she thinks is her target audience for their convention.

> Mrs Butler-Turner said she talked her parliamentary colleagues out of their plans to go to Governor General Dame Marguerite Pindling with a vote of no confidence in Dr Minnis to have him removed as Official Opposition leader.

Now, I wonder who is going to be honest and tell the actual truth about how this situation **truly** transpired, because this is absolutely shameless storytelling by Butler-Turner. I'm weary of expressing my disgust with the antics of FNMs.

> Mitchell: ‘Brain Drain’ Not A Major Problem

That's because he thinks he is the only person in The Bahamas with a brain, and since he doesn't plan to leave, all is well in Fred's Bahamaland.

Publius says...

What FNM supporters in the country should be equally as concerned about is the amount of senior FNMs, FNM Council Members and voting delegates who have absolutely no problem with this kind of activity. These are the kinds of accusations the FNM has hurled at the PLP for ages. Now both stand accused and in the words of the great Isaac Hayes, the accused are guilty. The rot in the country's political parties will require a major purge to even have the remotest chance of being addressed.

Damned disgrace.

> The Tribune spoke with BUT Acting President Zane Lightbourne both in the morning and shortly after 5pm yesterday, who said officials were still working on a way to get the team into Tortola ahead of the today’s athletic event.

How stupid is this? How would they expect these athletes to be ready to compete under such a condition? Fly them over the track, drop them off at the start of the races and they just hit the ground literally running? This level of incompetence and disrespect is to be condemned.

Publius says...

This story was exhausting - a useless, unlearned House Speaker and an impetuous MP who lacks foresight and sense of purpose.

What else is new.

And he was suspended from the **Sitting**, not the **Session** , as the Tribune has said here. If he were suspended for the rest of the Session, that would mean he could not return until Parliament was prorogued, which would start a new Session of Parliament.

Indeed. Let him put his money toward supporting the "small man" in his efforts to bring about a better Bahamas. But that of course will not happen. Persons like him are content to swindle and wax in-eloquently in newspapers about how the small man needs to sit small because his name will never be called.
