Why doesn't the Union pay to have their members trained on the new equipment being installed? After all, that is why the members pay dues to the Union, not just so this idiot can collect a cushy salary. And to threaten the entire island of New Providence with summer blackouts is tantamount to extortion. Jimmy Hoffa could have learned a thing or two from this criminal. He should be jailed immediately.

With all due respect, I live on Sassoon drive. The increased flow of traffic on Sassoon drive is not an issue. What is an issue is the ludicrous speed of those that now use Sassoon Drive as their personal Indy Car circuit. Each morning vehicles whiz by me and many other locals walking for exercise doing 50 or 60 miles per hour easy. And when anyone tries to tell these speed demons to slow down they are given obscene finger gestures or sworn at. There is a regular in a White Kia Soul that I have witnessed pass multiple cars lined up at the stop sign of Sassoon and Hill View and run said stop sign with no regard for property or human life. Sassoon Drive is a lawless free for all and it is only a matter of time before someone dies.

100% of the developers are Bahamian, senior and junior. Management and ownership is also 100% Bahamian. While there are developers here in the Bahamas, it takes anywhere from 1 to 2 years of training for them to become an asset to the company. There is a tremendous learning curve where they need to learn not only how to write code efficiently but also the world of finance. If a developer does not know how to do the accounting for processing the income on a stock dividend then there is no way he or she can write the code to do it. Many of Mr. Raine's former employee's have gone on to jobs with high finance companies both here and abroad having learned a great deal about the business from Mr. Raine.

Actually since Mr. Raine formed the company in 1993 it has been staffed entirely by Bahamians. Many employees have been hired directly out of COB and gotten their real world experience and developer skills through the company. Unfortunately we suffer like many Bahamian companies from brain drain and have lost Bahamian developers to overseas companies who can pay more and offer a better quality of life. At least 20 Bahamians have been employed by IPBS over the years and there is no intention of ever hiring any foreigners. From our experience there is plenty of talent to choose from locally.

I thought with the fall of Communism in the USSR no one would ever have to carry papers again anywhere. I always new Mitchell is a communist at heart. As a Bahamian am I now expected to have my passport with me at all times? Anyone can get a drivers licence and in order to work everyone must have an NIB card so I guess my passport is the only thing I can use to avert being carted off to Carmichael rd. In all my years I have never heard Fred Mitchell apologize for anything so why should he start now. The man has never done anything wrong in his entire life if you were to ask him
