Rinky Dinky Dickleman has it all wrong: Our relationship with the U.S. has waned to a new low point while our new found friends, the Chinese and the Russian-Ukrainians, are eager to do whatever it takes to help improve the quality of life for all Bahamians. We must tip our hat to the Chinese for sharing some of their economic surplus (built on gains from Walmart sales to Americans) with us. All we ever really wanted from the U.S. was help in policing our borders but the narrow minded political elite in the U.S. could not bend their weak minds to see that doing so would have been very much in the mutual interest of the Bahamas and U.S.
Why would anyone in the process of negotiating any type of deal with a U.S. connected enterprise (Federal or state government or otherwise, including U.S. corporations) visit the Bahamas and use our telephone system so that the NSA can collect and pass on information about the deal to whoever the U.S. government may choose to favor in the negotiations?! Much better for all business travelers doing who may be doing any business whatsoever with a U.S. connected enterprise to stay away from the Bahamas altogether lest that one phone call result in the whole deal being prejudiced as a result of the unfair sharing of information illegally obtained by NSA spying activities for the interests of the U.S. Government and U.S. corporations.
go shane go! shane, you better than any plantation master that ever cracked a whip!! you tell those public service employees that you (the master of all masters) ain't too happy with their productivity 'cause you ain't yet gat ya new mercedes s500 with a blue license plate!!! Jus' keep d'em uncivilized civil servants shackled to indentured servitude for the bidding of the ruling political elite like ya'self until ya absolutely need to throw 'em a token bone come election time.
Let the layoffs begin! The smart money has already left the Bahamas and there is no way the dumb money will ever fill the hole dug by years of corrupt incompetent FNM and PLP governments. The Pritchards, Lightbourns, D'Albenas's, Pyfroms, Symonettes, Thompsons, Rogers, Hazelwoods, Grahams, Holoweskos, Bethels, Solomons and so on have long ago activated their contingency (exit) plans knowing that it will soon be difficult for most to come by tooth paste, soap, deodorant, detergent, candles, etc. in the Bahamas. Our successive corrupt Bahamian governments and their nouveau riche corrupt business cronies are guaranteed to be the ones left holding the proverbial empty bag....as it should rightfully be!
And to think someone like Sean McWeeney wants to sell Bahamian citizenship to super wealthy foreigners where doing so will only severely exacerbate the existing problems we have with artificially high property values and property taxes that Bahamians must now contend with. Yep, this guy McWeeney may be well read and well dressed, but like most players behind the scenes in our political system, he lacks that one important attribute known as basic common sense!
McWeeney just wants to ingratiate himself into the estate planning affairs of the mega rich in an effort to line his pockets as a lawyer who specializes in trust work.......he is happy to peddle anything, including Bahamian citizenship, if it stands a chance of turning a dollar his way.
Father makes the big bucks and, to keep his son busy, let's him dabble in unprofitable business ventures guaranteed to loose a few small bucks, relatively speaking.

This pathetic little poodle Davis, like lame brain Mitchell, fails to appreciate that every single contract the Bahamas has negotiated with the U.S. Government and any U.S. State Government, including their agencies and departments, over the past several years are now void ab initio as a result of the not unreasonable presumption that the interests of the Bahamas in the negotiations were prejudiced by information illegally obtained by the NSA and passed on (in the interest of the U.S.) to the U.S. connected party(ies) involved in the contracts signed with the Bahamas. This would include all of the contracts the Bahamas has signed with international lending agencies controlled for all intents and purposes by the U.S. Government, e.g. the IMF, the World Bank, the International Development Bank (IDB) and so on that the Bahamas contracted with to obtain loans!
It would have impossible for the Bahamas Government to protect its interests in any contractual negotiations with a U.S. connected enterprise (government or otherwise) over the past several years as a result of NSA's illegal spying activities. Yes, every single contract would be ruled void ab initio on a presumptive basis by any international court or tribunal and its high time the Bahamas asserted its rights in a meaningful manner by having the likes of Mitchell and Davis step aside as they will never have the ability to see the forest for the sake of trees.
