Bahamian taxpayers will be stuck with the much higher costs of the BEC owned "Transmission and Distribution company" whereas the favoured business cronies of Perry Christie and the PLP will end up owning the "Generation Services company" which will have a sweet profiteering Power Purchase Agreement with BEC. Christie has in fact already decided who will be his anointed lucky investors in the "Generation Services company". Oh yeah, you be sure the PM's restructuring plan for BEC will ensure his designated crony investors in the power generating plant prosper handsomely at the expense of Bahamian taxpayers who will be stuck bearing the losses of the electrical distribution and transmission system.

All of the proposals thus far put to Government are quite glaring in terms of the greed of the investors behind them as evidenced by their keen desire not to acquire BEC through a Government supported privatization initiative. The investors behind each of the proposals received to date would love a "sweet profiteering" arrangement that leaves BEC and Bahamian taxpayers on the hook for the high cost of the country's electrical distribution system (covering many islands), BEC's unfunded pension liabilities, etc. etc. The eventual outcome of putting only the electrical generating plants in the hands of these investors, with a "sweet deal" contract on the back of an already financially troubled BEC, is all too obvious: BEC would soon go belly-up leaving Bahamian taxpayers saddled with funding its unsettled liabilities, and the less costly parts of its electrical distribution system would be picked up at a fire sale price by the private plant owners.

The arrangement between Water & Sewerage Corp and Consolidated Water is a classic example of why these types of deals fail.

The 300 Bahamians to get new jobs could retire today and live the life style of the rich and famous off of the concessions Perry "Vomit" Christie will have to grant the foreign investors as compensation for hiring them. Such outrageous concessions, like all the others granted to foreign investors, will be piled on to our unsustainable national debt which will eventually ruin the quality of life for all Bahamians.......except of course the privileged ruling elite like PGC himself.

When will Bahamians realize that the PLP and FNM parties are both responsible for so many of the wrongs committed against our society and for the decline of our country? The politicians in these two political parties are owned and controlled by their greedy business cronies who financially support (bribe?) them in exchange for political favours of one kind or another that typically have a very negative impact on our society and country as a whole. For decades now the FNM and PLP alike have wittingly or unwittingly promoted policies aimed at creating a majority underclass of illiterate, unquestioning and undiscerning voters. The unchecked wreckage of our country's finances by both the FNM and PLP has resulted in most Bahamians struggling to meet their basic daily needs against the backdrop of ever rising food and utility costs, a failed educational system and a failing health care system. truth be told, the entire bahamas will soon go up in smoke if bahamians do not free themselves from the failed policies of the plp and fnm! These two political parties deserve nothing but a quick death....they have together done more harm to our country than the old UBP could or would have ever done!

Consolidated Water should be paid for water production on the basis of water that ultimately flows out of the tap as this is the only water that can be metered and tied to the revenue of Water & Sewerage Corp. Paying Consolidated Water millions of dollars for millions of gallons of water that simply seeps into the ground and is lost forever is the height of pissing away money we don't have as a country. Our governments (both PLP and FNM alike) have tolerated this massive squandering of funds that manifests itself in the losses of Water & Sewerage Corp borne by Bahamian taxpayers for many years now. If Consolidated Water is unwilling or unable to help us fix our very leaky water distribution system, then we need to sign an appropriate contract with a water producer who is willing and able to do so.

The same should also apply to all of the proposals thus far put to Government by greedy investors looking to build an electrical generating plant to supply BEC with electricity.

Watch out for this Pinder fella. Many in our community are suspicious that he and his father are agents of the U.S. government. Some say his father's former Eastern Road home was well bugged by the U.S. government before it was leased to the Chinese Government.

These dump fires have plagued the health of Bahamians for years now and no doubt have contributed to the demise of countless of our brothers and sisters. No white man would inflict this kind of harm and injury on his fellow man no matter what colour they may be. Sadly we are what we are and will continue to be so for as long as we go to the polls come election time and vote the monkey branded either PLP or FNM......same difference!
