Tax those who should pay and don't worry about them passing the added tax costs along to consumers.......no one I know has ever been able to get blood out of a stone. Making Mr. Wilson pay his fair share may eventually get him to appreciate the need for much smaller less corrupt government! That would be a wonderful thing.

The end of Lake Cunningham!

These are the very people who should made to pay more than their fair share as they have taken more than their fair share by burdening the backs of their much less well off brethren.

This twit (Miller) will be Christie's legacy when Bahamian's learn the extent to which electrical metres of the favoured run slower than those of the unfavoured, and the extent to which credit privileges followed by later significant writeoffs of receivables in arrears are afforded to the favoured at the expense of the unfavoured. Word on the street has it that BEC continues to leak sensitive internal information to well connected persons who now have a mountain of "explosive" dry powder to be used when the time is right.

Government may even force the banks, unions and insurance companies to give us a hefty financial reward for not paying our mortgage loans on time......the more the arrears the bigger the reward will eventually be! This is great news for all of us who are in dire need of financial relief. Government itself will soon be forced to stop servicing (paying) the national debt its owes to foreign financial institutions and lending agencies......but no worry here because our Government is surely convinced it will somehow be rewarded for not paying its debts when they become due!

All of us who have been paying our bills on time, whether it be BEC, Real Property Tax, National Insurance, Business License or whatever, are foolish imbeciles. The Government's message is loud and clear: do not pay any such bills and government will later reward you handsomely for not doing so. only a complete moron would throw away rewards that government will eventually pay you for not paying your bills!

Tom Duff (ICB/JSJ) is clearly not content to have the law of the land require drivers in the Bahamas to carry auto insurance, more often than not at outrageous premium rates. Based on his twisted interpretation of this ruling, he now wants to charge all drivers even more for the insurance coverage that should have been in place to begin with for all commercial businesses requiring auto insurance coverage. Tom Duff conveniently ignores the fact that it is the vehicle that is insured and not the driver. Any driver holding a current driver's license is entitled to drive any insured vehicle that his/her driver's license authorizes him/her to drive. This has always been the case under our statute law and if the underwriting practices of ICB/JSJ have failed to recognise this simple fact, then Mr. Duff should get off his duff and educate his underwriting staff rather than take issue with our Courts by making veil threats that he will convene a meeting of the auto insurers cartel to jack up auto insurance rates!

More simply put: "Contracts of any kind should never trump Statute Law!"
