Writing a column about a song you haven't heard is like Dame Joan commenting on constitutional amendment bills she hasn't read...

Neko G. is right when saying that other countries have taxed unhealthy substances. However, he might also wish to admit that taxes on tobacco products have already seen a steep rise over the past couple of years. He might also wish to admit that we live in this bizarre country where our locally brewed beer is more expensive than it is if bought overseas. But then again, I better not hold my breath for any Bahamian politician to admit that their fiscal policies are an unsound and unsustainable disaster.

Read this article carefully: "no reported murders."

Given that the first six months of 2016, we saw - on average - one murder every 2.46 days, one would have expected 12-13 murders for the month of July. A drop this drastic in such a short time can only be attributed to two possible causes: 1) fluke aka sheer dumb luck, or 2) rigged statistics.

As a columnist, Coulson seems a little out of touch with the Bahamas, if he asks what he thinks is a rhetorical question - "why don’t we have at least one professional Bahamian poll-taker?" - when in fact we do. However, as they are indeed running a professional business, they will not conduct a poll and release the numbers merely because Mr. Coulson wishes them to. They will do so, if you pay them to do so.

Awkward realization when Disney cares more about the Bahamas' environment than our own government...
