Thank you, police Commissioner Paul Rolle, and the team of officers for the meal vouchers.
Unfortunately, 200 meal vouchers are a minuscule drop in a very big bucket of hungry, traumatized, people that have no clue where their next meals are coming from, also knowing we are entering peak hurricane season!
Using the police is a good way to distribute vouchers but they would need to distribute 20,000+ meal vouchers on a sustained base if they realistically expect to make any impact.
Our country is in a tailspin with no light at the end of the tunnel, and no end in sight.
The only good thing Covid-19 has done is to expose 50 years of political stupidity.
Why are our people still getting sick and dying from Covid19 when it has been proven a regimen of vitamin D and Zink will prevent people from contracting the disease, and in the right amounts cure the virus in a matter of days?
Why are our people still getting sick and dying from Covid19 when it has been proven a regimen of vitamin D and Zink will prevent people from contracting the disease, and in the right amounts cure the virus in a matter of days?
The national debt ballooning to $8.24bn for the fiscal year 2019/2020 in the fourth-quarter fiscal is a **full-length feature movie series,** not a *"snapshot".*
The Bahamas need to come to grips with and urgently put new innovative plans in place to address our ballooning debt in the most serious posture possible. This is no time for politricks, and playing political favorites.
**every remotely able hand** is needed front & center on deck, or we all go down!!
With the tourism product as our number one industry having been albeit totally ignored for the past 50 years and allowed to seriously regress by successive administrations, Covid19 has unquestionably forced this government to remove the blinders, sit up straight, and start paying undivided attention!
This government should be "nose to the grinder" at the table trying to identify as many ways possible for more tourists to increase spending in our country.
No more of the "give everything to foreigners" stupidity will work. Bahamians MUST become owners and operators of our top industries our we will find ourselves in this very same untenable position again, and again!
If Bahamians are initially unable to deliver world-class products, the government needs to acknowledge and accept that they themselves are the reason Bahamians may be deficient due to inexperience caused by decades of being left out of sharing the tourism pie.
Jamaica and the Dominican Republic had to overcome the very same deficiencies with their people producing food and tourism products. They both came from way, way, way, behind us, and surpassed the Bahamas in local food production and tourism products.
The only thing holding Bahamians and the Bahamas economic growth back was our own government that insisted on giving everything lock, stock, and barrel to foreigners and regulating Bahamians to workers instead of owners in our economy.
Thanks to the Covide19 pandemic, the chickens have now come home to roost and successive governments many, many, failures, and utter stupidity, are laid bare for all to **feel and examine!**
I though I was the only person that noticed the huge disparity of justice in our country. A Bahamian is lynched compared to a slap on the wrist for a foreigner that commits the same crime.
To put things in some perspective, let's not forget they also rewarded illegal Haitians with a years income if caught and deported!
To add injury to insult, I personally know someone that signed up for a Covid test but the line and wait was too long, so they left without getting tested. However, low and behold the clinic called them several days later and said they'ed tested positive!
The system simply doesn't work. There's absolutly no way I'm trusting these clowns with a "trial" vaccine especially after Dr. Fauci warns **NOT** to rush with trial vaccines!
This is an unbelievable horrendous indictment of incompetence on several levels. Front line workers should be at the forefront of the best care available.
If the powers that be are incapable of taking care of nurses, then the union should step in, side step governments red tape, and seek OTC remedies from local doctors or Dr. Bethel in Freeport.
What criteria was used to conclude "less than one percent of those new infections came from foreigners"?
It is an insult to our intelligence to say Bahamians exposed for 72 hours are responsible for 99% of the infections, while foreigners from hot spots presenting a **7 to 10 day old** negative Covid test having exponentially increased opportunity to contract and spread infections, only account for 1% of the spread!
These numbers do not make any sense and simply do not add up. I know politicians are known to create their own reality to suite their ever changing narrative, and think we are all D-average dumb-asses, but at least they could have said something "remotely" believable.
Secondly, tourism will remain under pressure until the US resolves it's Covid epidemic, which won't happen until they lock down the entire country, and this cannot happen until January **IF** Biden wins the presidency. Even then, it would take 2 to 3 months minimum to get the virus under control, so we can look at March or April before we get any real tourism volume from the US.
