This does not pass the smell test. We cannot be stupid enough to fall for yet another land grabbing snake oil developer.

Regardless of how much money Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong is supposedly worth, why would we be stupid enough to give him 500,000 acres without any proof of capability to actually produce anything? Does he have any experience in the aragonite business? Why **give**him anything at all? If he has so many billions, why doesn't he simply buy what he wants?

This FNM government like Ingraham and Christie governments will also get swing by the usual crooked Bahamian lawyers and this billionaire. These people will promise heaven and earth to the Bahamas and as soon as the "toothless" heads of agreement are signed their project will drastically change and they too will disappear just like all the rest WITH the people's land!

Firstly, if we are stupid enough to entertain this nonsense, the government must be prudent enough to put clawback and proper escape clauses in the heads of agreement so this man has to produce per the heads of agreement. Secondly, any property should only be granted as needed for phased developments.

*Bahamianson* analogy of local racism is a classic white Bahamian racist copout. His statement of "majority Black hatred against Whites here in the Bahamas" is 100% pure fictional fallacy that he cannot remotely begin to substantiate!

Racist white Bahamians cannot get over the fact they lost power to majority rule the same as racist white Americans cannot get over the fact they lost the Confederacy and the slave trade.

Identifying white Bahamian racist is always easy as they immediately try to justify their racism against black Bahamians by claiming black Bahamians hate Haitians. Why the hell would white Bahamians care if black Bahamians hated Haitians anyway? What is this strong bond between white Bahamians and Haitians that makes white Bahamians favor a foreign black Haitian to a black Bahamian citizen?

The first obvious observation is when dealing with white Bahamians the Haitian "knows his place". He will never question or stand up to "massah boss", and will always be happy, and subservient to the white Bahamian.

To quash another white Bahamian fallacy, black Bahamians do not hate Haitians as a people. However, black Bahamians absolutely do hate the multitude of socio-economic havoc Haitians are causing for black Bahamians.

White Bahamians are totally oblivious to, and not in the least affected by illegal Haitian migration supported by legal Haitians that erodes opportunities for black Bahamians for business opportunities, jobs, children's education, health care, and desperately needed social services. White Bahamians are also 100% insulated by Haitians stealing their family names to forge NIB identifications, birth certificates, passports, U.S. visas, etc'.

If 1 million Haitians migrated to the Bahamas today, white Bahamians would not be the least bit affected. Alternatively, black Bahamians would be 100% annihilated! Black Bahamians need for their very existence gives them every reason to be xenophobic of Haitians.

Regarding the idea that a "lot of rich Black hatred of so-called "Poor Blacks". The Bahamas is very guilty of the phenomenon known as "class discrimination", also known as classism, which is prejudice or discrimination on the basis of social class.

White Bahamians lost "visible" political power, however, they maintain a tight grip on financial power and still control the country from behind the scenes. The descendants of the same white families that controlled the country prior to majority rule, still control the country today!

Don't be mislead by all the noise in the market place. Brutality against black people was condoned prior to, and from the inception of the Justice Department in 1782. Police and slave owners murdered blacks with impunity for hundreds of years. The Justice Department cannot escape culpability for the major role it played in facilitating 1000's of murders by cops and white people!

After 400 years of horrific systemic racism, the only surprising question is why didn't American blacks rise up and turn to terrorism as virtually every other ethnic group has done worldwide in their fight for equality?

The answer may be owing to the fact that whites savagely massacred and rooted out any black slaves with the smallest iota of rebellion publically. The surviving slaves taught their children what to say and how to act to avoid brutality and murder from white slave owners.

The well known ongoing culture of American black parents teaching children how to avoid being murdered by white police today is a carryover from 100's of years of whites murdering blacks for frivolous reasons with impunity.

George Floyds' brutal public murder by white cops may have been the straw that broke the camels back!

OMG, people still "going" to Florida to shop? Even Americans have been doing all their shopping online for many years. I haven't been to Florida in over 10 years, and have absolutely no intension of going anytime in the foreseeable future!

SP says...

Blah, blah, blah, blah blah. Testing before allowing people to travel here should never have been a question in the first place!

In addition to all this COVID-19 travel talk, the Bahamas needs to urgently figure out why our destination and people are off the charts when it comes to friendliness with tourists!

https://www.foxnews.com/travel/friendli…

One common thread with the "Friendliest Caribbean islands" article is the people are very proud of their country. How could Bahamians be proud of their country when successive governments have facilitated "other nationals" in dominating entire sectors of the economy?

We have been lead on a path to self-destruction for so long that neither political party has the consciousness of mind and the wherewithal to even begin recognizing the danger!

SP says...

This is so stupid I couldn't believe it. Sandyport restaurants were exactly like what we saw at Arawak Cay and consistent throughout the Island over the weekend.

If health officials found the behavior of Arawak Cay, Sandyport, and elsewhere
“disturbing”, they should have immediately demanded the closure of these entities!

Judging from the comments and actions of people, they do not take COVID-19 seriously.
Obviously, we do not want a virus resurgence as is happening now in the U.S.

The government needs to make sure people obey the social distancing and mask-wearing protocols or shut down businesses that do not make patrons comply!

SP says...

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Regardless of how far you shove your head up your backside, the fact remains whatever Fred says has absolutely no credibility with Bahamians because he has unquestionably proven that his loyalty is to Haiti and his Haitian countryman at all costs!

The total socio-economic collapse of the Bahamas is already well underway by the huge negative impact of the parallel language, social, economic, and multi-level corrupt systems employed by Fred's Haitian brethren.

Case in point. How many homeless Haitians have we seen begging in the streets? How many
Haitians do we see standing in soup kitchen lines begging for food every day even prior to COVID-19? How is it possible that even illegal Haitians are in better financial positions during this pandemic than Bahamian citizens in their own country? Why is it possible that we see Haitians and other ex-pats still standing in long lines repatriating money at every money transfer location while more and more Bahamians are standing in soup kitchen lines begging for handouts every day?

Without question, we definitely need a fresh start.

Let's start the process by making it mandatory that every work permit, belonger, resident, and citizenship status are nullified and checked for authenticity before reissuing, implementing, and stringently enforcing illegal employment regulations, best practices for limiting the number of any particular foreign national in ratio to Bahamians.

If insulting, abusing, beating, torturing, shooting, the messenger, and stubbornly keep saying it is better in the Bahamas is what it takes to rid the country of the Haitian invasion and secure the Bahamas for future generations of Bahamians. It is a very small price to pay. SO BE IT!

Travelers testing or not testing prior to coming here shouldn't even be a question!

Nobody will ever convince me that the United States, being the richest and most powerful country in the world couldn't have simply gone through the lock-down process like every other country in the world. If they had, they would have been on par with the rest of the world and ready to open its border.

On their present trajectory, unquestionably COVID19 will force them to shut-down in a few short weeks forcing them to go through a long, painful, protracted shut-down.

How they couldn't see this coming will forever be one of the greatest mysteries of all time!

SP says...

Due to his lop sided bias position on the Haitian invasion, the majority of Bahamians dismiss anything from Fred Smith and find him totally reprehensible and abhorrent!

All the years Fred has been fighting for Haitians, he has not once found it necassary to stand up for his adoptive country, the Bahamas. He knows every Haitian drug and human trafficker in the country, yet he has never surrenderd one to the government.

Like most people, I refuse to read anything coming from Fred, and will continue ignoring him until he proves some nationalism to the Bahamas!

****STFU** Fred**

One of the biggests blessing during the COVID19 lockdown was not having to see any Haitians or being bombarded with Creol!

Repatriations should reflect illegal entry. Sending 67 men and eight women, but no children is
a real reason for concern. Where are the illegal children?

On 75 repatriated to Haiti
