The ship is now reported to be 800 (nautical miles) off Nova Scotia Maine will have to bypass U.S. ports of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
Canada refused a place of refuge request possibly due to not wanting to risk an ecological disaster in their waters, and 15 east coast U.S. ports also refused the ship entry more than likely for the same reason.
Why are the Bahamas with virtually no capabilities to deal with an ecological disaster should this ship sink or explode taking this risk? Is Christie back?
Blah, blah, blah, blah. These two "talking heads ministers" need to try selling their nonsense to tens of thousands of unemployed and underemployed, hungry, broke, Bahamians sitting in darkness with no hope!
My "business indicator" is my bank account balance and it "indicates" that unemployment is at an all-time high with no end in sight.
Get rid of the blue collar expats and put our people back to work.
Bahamians joblessness and suffering is caused by the governments' policy of selling work permits to nonessential expat blue-collar workers for profits!
This poor woman and her family are suffering needlessly. Get rid of the blue collar expats and let Bahamians have those low skilled jobs.
Alternatively, get rid of the FNM government and elect a new party that understands that Bahamians must be first in our country. The PLP already proved they don't give a dam about Bahamians so no point even thinking about them!
Why the hell are Bahamians suffering while Asians and Latinos who do nothing but damage the sustainability of the country live the Bahamian dream?
Spoken like an expat! I don't give a dam if they have an -F average.
If Bahamians had those jobs held by expats we wouldn't have an unemployment problem, crime would drastically decrease, the local economy would immediately return to buoyancy, business would flourish creating more job opportunities, the government would collect more taxes, infrastructure & medical would greatly improve and foreign reserves would drastically increase!
Alternatively, keep the expats' and watch the country continue going down the tube.
It's a no brainer equation regardless of how you look at it.
Now Traveling in Central America after having Skype calling BTC for data roaming assistance twice with both "reps" promising faithfully to call me back & resolve the issue which never happened. Contacting BTC for help was a total waste of time!
Meanwhile, an accomplice using Alive was immediately sorted out online and is able to use their phone without a hitch, albeit a bit expensive.
BTC lost and will continue losing market share due to their lousy service and excessive rates comparative to Jamaica, Haiti, and others in the region.
I may not switch immediately simply due to the hoops & headaches involved with the change, however, I will definitley switch before leaving the country again!
Another dam vexing thing, what national or serious phone company closes on Sundays and holidays? If BTC wants to hold onto what market share they have left they need to seriously pull up their socks and deliver a much higher standard of customer service because to date **btc s-u-c-k-s.**

For starters get rid of unnecessary white and blue collar expat workers and secondly, stop handing out work permits like candy.
