It's going to take 2 years? Wow, who got the contract Touché Turtle?

PRIME Minister Philip “Brave” Davis attending the senior regional conference this week where he will raise issues related to the impact of Russia’s invasion on Ukraine and China’s presence in the region?

PM Davis needs to take several steps back and raise the issue of Haiti's invasion of the Bahamas!!

What a joke. "Last place" Bahamas is the chair of the tourism sector for the whole Caribbean? Lol, wonder what brilliant guidance the Bahamas brought to the table.

Any fool can see what "China's presence in the region" is by simply learning from "their presence in Africa". Hopefully, someone will have enough sense to stop China in the Caribbean!

The Caribbean needs to form its own economic block by duplicating the banking regulations of Delaware and standing its ground!

On Davis to speak on Ukraine issue

@Emillo26 & moncorcool.....your guys have serious comprehension issues. Exactly which part of **"nonessential ex-pats"** is confusing to you?

Sadly, Ukraine is a tick under the attack of a bear!

DPM Cooper says “The government is ramping up its social services initiatives to ensure that social services is able to support persons in need". If he did a survey of the "persons in need", it would reveal that the majority of needy people were in the same dire position prior to Covid-19. Government handouts have never been, and will never be sufficient to help everyone in need.

The government has forgotten that prior to the pandemic, unemployment was already in very high double-digits, and many of these same Bahamians were living on rice, Ramon noodles, and some were lucky enough to have homegrown spinach!

Davis and Cooper need to make it their # 1 priority to get rid of the 30,000 nonessential ex-pats holding jobs that Bahamians can do and reverse the repatriating of hard currency out of the country which would simultaneously have a strong positive impact on the local economy and revive the banking sector.

Darren Henfield must be very ignorant if he truly believes Russia's attack on Ukraine, has the potential to evolve into an all-out war in Europe.

Russia's attack on Ukraine is equivalent to nothing more than a skirmish. The US or no country in Europe will allow themselves to be drawn into the conflict eliminating any chance of "all-out war in Europe".

PLP & FNM are two sides of the same coin! Neither is worth wasting my time reading the article.

SP says...

With 50 years of experience to draw from, anyone stupid enough to expect anything different from the PLP and FNM needs to skip having their heads examined and just take a swan dive off the highest point of Paradise Island west bridge!

On Davis govt also gave out no-bid contract

This is a complex three-headed kracken!

On the one hand, from the residents' perspective, they are legally right. However, on the other hand, the fact that the attractions are overwhelmingly popular with tourists, and Nassau's tourism product could unquestionably use any and all new attractions possible, and*" Adelaide residents had voted against a zip-line proposal for the area in 2017 as well as other projects"* the most blatant observation points to "Adelaide" having outgrown its original zoning in the best interest of the country.

This is a common phenomenon and conflict that happens in all growing countries. Everyone is familiar with stories of US residential properties being forcibly taken over for highways, trains tracks, etc that the government determined it had better use for.

The two simple questions that need answering are "What is best for the Bahamas"? and "Is Adelaide now being used to its best potential?"

Adelaide could very, very, easily be a golden egg for residents, property owners, and the country.

You must have just arrived here! The Bahamas has always been run by pirates, and as long as the PLP and FNM are in power nothing will change!

The only surprise is how the hell could such a small handful of pirates get away with manipulating the entire population for so long.
