Agreed. Without a system like you suggest, our agriculture sector will continue to deteriorate. How successive government have run this sector is a complete failure.
Two things are going to happen: 1 - there will be not committee set up and 2 - Nothing will be done about illegal immigration and shanty towns.
In three years there will be the same or more shanty homes than there are now - barring another terrible hurricane. We simply don't have the resources or the urge to create housing for the underprivileged. And the civil servants will not give up their side hustle.
I was wondering where you live, as I don't know anywhere that hands out an endless supply of taxi licenses. I'm sure New York and every large city across the globe, limit their numbers, which are likely based on statistics.
The FNM's need to ask better and more accurate questions. For example... How many taxi plates have been issued and in circulation as at September 30, 2022. And then a separate question being as at December 31, 2023. This will either force them to give the number or go on record saying that their records are not yet up to date as at a given time.
We have serious criminal elements in every level of government, civil service and the legal profession. When you hear some of the sentences you have to wonder how well the judge knows the person or how much $$ has been promised/paid. Once person will get a thousand dollar penalty and the next will get 2 years mandatory prison sentence for a similar crime.

The PLP just ignores laws so what's the point of putting any rules in place. This country is a free-for-all and it starts at the top.
