Okay. I'd like guesses as to what the final price tag will be. Since Gov't is quoting $14 to $18 million then I say.... north of $40 million. That leaves about $30 million to be shared between individuals. Not a bad contract.
Toby has made an application to government - PLP government or FNM government - to government! This application is certainly still in the Office of The Prime Minister (not Minnis' office or Brave's office - the office of the prime minister... regardless of who in in power). The Office of the Prime Minister needs to pull the file and review it for approval. There should be no need to submit another duplicate proposal to the very same office.
However, if this is not the case, one has to assume that whenever a 'new government' comes into power, every single application is automatically destroyed and the process starts again.
I have a feeling that government is looking for a suitable family member to force on Toby to be a 'Bahamian' partner. In case black Bahamians are unaware of this practice... it happens **a lot**! No matter how long your family has been in The Bahamas, if you are too white and the project is too attractive, then you need a 'business partner' in order to get approval.
We just can't shake our African roots. "Don't worry about tomorrow - we'll deal with that then." "We have no food, our children are starving. Ah, the UN just delivered rice... let's have more children."
Speak Birdie. Let's hear how you spin Brave's flip-flopping blunder. This one issue may well be enough to bring down the PLP. The other dozens of issues and blunders are just gravy for the opposition.
