A friend of mine moved here from another country to teach sports at a gov't school. The first month of school he was doing a class on the field, some guys jumped over the wall stabbed one of the students and took off. My friend transferred to a private school soon after.

I think ever Bahamian kid should be able to graduate at anytime they choose after grade 7. Why? Because even our grade 11 graduates only have a grade 7 education. So why make them wait till grade 11 to graduate?
You get a menial job, and you get a gubment job.

Can someone please disclose if these two attempted murdering kids know their father. $10 bucks says they don't. And another $10 says they got at least a couple half-brothers and sisters as well.
I would love to see a full slate of family statistics on our violent criminal kids.

She's asking for more protection for an apparent double murderer? Jokes. How about more protection for people who have not been arrested for murder? And I dare say he obviously committed the murders because I'm sure a hit wouldn't be placed on a random person.
Shame about his daughter being in the car at the time of the first hit. Bad boys love to have kids though. I guess they think carrying them around will offer some protection?

I had a home video camera filming a crime outside I would be hard pressed to tell or show the police. Chances are that film will be shown in court or on social media and the criminals will know its from my house and that I'm the reason they got caught.
I think i would quickly hide my camera's and play dumb. Call me sissy but I don't want my house getting shoot up in retaliation.

Take a picture of downtown today and take another one in 5 years. You'll see the difference... it'll look 5 years older.

Will reparations help us in any way. With our governments and lack of accountability any funds received will disappear in a heart beat. We can't use the funds to pay down debt because government will just borrow that money again 6 months later. Building a memorial will be a complete waste of time, money and effort as it will never be maintained. Dispersing it among the people will not help the people or the Bahamian economy because we'll just fly to Miami and buy more shit! The only thing we can do with it is put it in an investment and pay every Bahamian dividends from it every year so at least we, and our children, will get a little something every year. But the problem with that is we will want Bahamians to manage it but there won't be any regular reporting or audit so in time we won't truly know if it's being managed correctly or if there is indeed any money left. Plus, government will find a way to borrow against it (like NIB) and drain away any value.
In short, reparations are a nice thought, but we just aren't mature enough to handle any 'windfall'.

I desperately need a new car but I don't think that luxury items (albeit a necessity here because of the public transportation failure) should be among the first to see tariff reductions.

The last thing our government needs is more money to spend - cause they will spend whatever they get... plus 10%. Jesus take the wheel!!
