I agree with your sentiments. But unfortunately I think it's too late. The parents of the majority of our kids know that they are uneducated and the kids know this. The kids also know that their chance of moving up in society in extremely limited because of their single family home. Our society has been broken for far too long to respond to any kind of quick fix in education. The road to fix the generations of ignorance is a very long one.
Very few of our kids have the drive to become a beacon of hope. Some undoubtedly will, but the vast majority will follow in their single mother's footsteps.

These schools shouldn't need repairs for another 10 years, as they've been renovating them for the last 2 years straight during COVID.

Stupid argument. When webshop patrons put 1 dollar in the slot machine the patron sees a credit of 1 dollar. Casinos around the world get taxed at the gaming level. Patrons get taxed on any winnings.
