I hope there is not a story in 3 months about these Columbians being investigated by SEC and the FBI and Scotland Yard. I really hope we've done our due diligence and have actually spoken to the aforementioned agencies and not just done a google search or looked at the most recent watch list.
Why are unions allowed to exist here? If the staff worked to rule all of the time then there would be no reason for a union as the hotel owners we be so happy with staff performance that they would probably pay them more. How it works now hardly any of the staff put in a full days work so hotels need to hire extra people to ensure that everything that is needed to be done is done. This excess staff costs money. Instead of hiring 10 people at $25k a year they have to hire 15 or more people. So the $250k allocated to a department is now split between 15 people instead of the intended 10 - which means everyone only get $17k a year salary. So staff feel underpaid so they work even less. Vicious circle!
Junkanoo shouldn't be a competition - it should be a celebration! Let the spectators talk about who they think were better on Bay Street. If there weren't any money prizes involved no-one would give a crap about what 'judges' had to say. Let's get rid of prizes and simply give the funds out to qualifying groups.
Honestly, am I living in some stoned out zombie land movie where everything is reversed and out of sequence? How and why should I be paying more for less. And when I say less I mean less power supply (cause it always shutting off) I also mean less usage because they done burn out several big ticket items that used to be plugged in and are now in the fuckin' garbage!!!!
