I tried to line up my insurance with my birthdate long ago and the insurance company told me NO. They don't issue 4 month policies. I have to take it for a year. Which means, if you don't buy your car during your birthday month then you can't adjust your policy.
So if they are not paying private companies to do the salary reviews then who are they paying the $10 million to? Are they hiring $10 million worth of additional staff particularly to perform this review? How many staff? Which friends building will be leased and renovated in order to house these additional $10million worth of staff? If they are not hiring more staff then they must be paying pretty big bonuses or overtime to the HR people already employed. Finally, how can they compare the majority of their salaries to the private sector. There is no private sector for car licensing, or watching people dig hole or sitting at desk till lunch or watching telephone ring all day. The majority of government jobs don't exist anywhere in the world.
There's sooo much wrong with Davis, his budget and his figures. First... they anticipated revenue of $190 million for real estate worth over $1million when last year they only brought in $122 million. That's a 50% increase. That is an outlier right there and needs further explanation. Then to say only $15 million was collected so far? And he just mentions that in passing. How can these figures make the budget report without a detailed explanation? Did Wilson even look at the report? One would doubt it.
Wilson sounds confused. The reporters error was that he didn't lead with the definition of liar. If he did that then Wilson would have fully understood and perhaps answered some questions. I blame Wilson's parents for not calling him out earlier in life.
Hold on a minute... Tax revenue went up by $136.9 million but TOTAL revenue went up by only $112.4 million. So while Bahamians paid more in taxes some other area(s) contributed less to total revenue. I would really like to know who/what are contributing less while we the people are paying more. One would think that if tax revenue went up by $136.9 million then total revenue would have gone up by at least that amount. It appears like the Bahamian people are getting swing!!!
