I would prefer if the police do the state killing so that we can avoid the chaos of the courts where lawyers are changed and call in sick solely for the purpose of delaying trials so that these thugs get bail. Our legal system is sickening.
Since we're praying... I'll pray for the death penalty to be reinstated, you know... since it is a law and all. I also pray that **everyone** follows the laws on our books, including (and especially) the politicians dem and the police dem.
Okay, let's work through Munroe's suggestion. Let's say I have a friend that I know is bad in the head and has a gun hidden somewhere. He has no particular beef with anyone at the moment, but it's only a matter of time. I tell the police about this and... 1) They assign 2 officers to follow my friend around for a couple days, weeks months? 2) They round up my friend and charge him for being 'bad in the head' and beat him for information about the gun that I said he had hidden somewhere, and then get sued for false arrest and battery? 3) They tell my friend about a social services lecture they have coming up about conflict resolution? Now times that above scenario by about 50 or 100. Will any of the above scenario's help our current crime situation?
Is it more humane to lock someone in a prison for the rest of their lives or is it more humane to end their life knowing that they will die in a cage? For animals, especially dogs, we consider it inhumane to keep them in a cage for the majority of their lifetime. We even fight for pigs and chickens to be able to roam free. Obviously we can't let murderers and serial killers roam free, although the church will probably argue this point as well, so what do we do. Lock them up for life or put them out of their misery. Humans need to evolve away from this astoundingly childish belief that all life is sacred. Some people are simply evil and looking up and saying words simply isn't going to transform them into civilized humans.
Jesus! Based on just the 500 number, that means that there are **at least** 166 prison officers reporting to the prison for every shift (assuming 3 shifts a day - 8 hours each). Is there really 166 officers on duty there are any one time? I seriously doubt that.
“Life is a gift from God and must be cherished, respected, and preserved.” And you must respect and preserve the life of those that murder innocent woman and children by shooting them in the head? Even the lives of serial murders and rapists must be cherished and preserved, but yet you don't have a problem with letting them rot in a cell for the rest of their natural lives? Assuming of course that the church doesn't believe in letting murderers roam free.
So many of our officials are content with the amount of murders and the laws surrounding punishment and bail. But yet... I assume that they are also hoping for a drastic reduction in the murder rate and attempted murders (those intentionally shot but are lucky to survive)? Interesting times. Sit back and don't change a thing, while hoping for better results. Welcome to the land of insane leadership.
I think it is time to put THC in the drinking water. Seriously! People will calm down and it helps with all sorts of anxiety. Try it for 6 months and then check the results.
Because they are first world countries? Honestly. I don't see a correlation, even if you're correct. It's like saying countries that hang produce juicier apples. We stopped hanging long ago but yet our murder rate increases. Is there a specific timeline that we have to wait for the capital punishment effect to kick in? LOL!

Sorry, but I don't see the logic in that.
