Grant had his time. The era of MPs for life needs to come to an end. Whatever he and others like him have to contribute has either happened or never will. Farewell, thanks for your PAID service and good luck in your future ventures..

Still a lot about this that is foggy... Notice that there is no mention of who will operate the place.. Does this mean they just dudn't want to say or it is a wish with no buyer yet identified? Despite pledging that local contractors would be made whole 100%, notice the words 'significant part and possibly all' and further down 'some of their outstanding claims'. Doesn't sound like 100% to me. Finally, government used $22 mil + due to Sarkis for the road work to par those displaced workers. Now that they will receive their outstanding payments from the Chinese, will they pay back the taxpayers? While this whole situation now seems to be moving again, it appears there remains many questions and much yet to be done.

doesn't matter what place the contract says disputes would be litigated... Sarkis formed companies in the US related to Bahamar and still could not use that system to his advantage when he needed it... can you rely on anything these days? i'm not so sure...

i'm surprised that an intellectual like Sears doesn't accept that the Bahamas is still very undeveloped politically and allegiances are still tribal..

the union, one of the last bastions of socialism has outlived its usefulness... thet have operated like highway robbers constantly extorting money from employers under threat of collective withdrawal of their services.. this is the 21st century, a new world order. sooner these folks accept this reality, sooner this country starts to move.. dominican republic, haiti. all doing better. shame on us...

payment of graft is an institutionalized and accepted practice in our political system. indeed how many times have we heard the expression 'its our time now'. the only wrong is to be caught. good thing we are a christian nation otherwise imagine how corrupt we would really be.

fantastic job by Miller! I'm sure there will be sour grapes from some of her peers on the US side, but she won the race.. Finish.. Bahamas gold...

Bowe and the socialist PLPs believe the answer to everything is more and more big government. Nothing beats the free market.. Capitalism, competition. There are always folk willing to compete if they believe they will get a fair shake.. Government deciding everything is not the answer... Check Cuba, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, etc. Socialism is dead, we need to accept that reality here and move on...

You could run a goat in LI as an FNM and it would win... So if LBT retains her seat, it won't be saying much other than that's goat politics...

thats all well and good that legal action is the last resort but this mentality is also the reason delinquincies are at 75%, nobody pays property tax, banks are saddled with a high rate of non-performong loans, contractors dont pay when the building burns down and they had no insurance, bec has hundreds of milions in debt, etc. i think u get the picture.. a country where it seems nobody pays their bills...
