Didn't Moody's and them just days ago caution about government spending? We had plenty MPs and Ingraham cut the number. With plenty and with few the results have been the same. No representation worthy of mention. The MPs don't know what their people agree or disagree with e.g. Recent referendum that all MPs supported. If we accept they represent their people and know their views, how could the results be the complete opposite?
With all respect to the previous post, I don't think anybody ever got a loan who did not apply for it. This country was formed with bloated government since the legacy laggards named I.e. Bahamasair, ZNS, W&SC and BEC in recent times were all in existence from day 1 and have not gotten any better. This government does not have the depth to carry these entities.. They have to be privatized. The market forces will sort things out after that..
Have to agree with Miller but the problem isn't the Union demands, they can come to the table and ask for anything. The real problem is big government. Why is government in businesses that could be owned and operated by private companies? Governments in small 3rd world developing countries like the Bahamas, are subject to voter blackmail. They don't think cost at the negotiating table, they think votes. At the end of the day they don't agree what they can afford, they agree what they need to for labor peace and hopefully votes as a result. Private companies put it to you cold, this is what we can afford, take it or leave it.
So troubling that we live in a country where we need to give 'thanks' and praise for the government doing what governments are supposed too. Isn't this what we pay taxes for? Isn't that the reason various agencies exist? In the final analysis seems to me everyone did what they are expected and paid to do, no more, no less.
All of these socialists and communists in the Unions will finish destroying the Bahamas yet. Let them make their bed hard, only they will have to sleep in it. A word to the wise is sufficient as they say while empty vessels make the most noise.
those same folks are going to thank Fitzgerald by voting him back . when push came to shove you see what him and Alison did; they looked out fir themselves.. thats what they mean by putting people first, they are referring to themselves of course...
We can all appreciate Ms. Burrows English lesson but in today's world, few words are used technically correctly and they develop everyday use and meaning. Writers are quite correct to refer to the prevailing attitude regarding non-Bahamians by resident Bahamians as being xenophobic. We get downgraded and some get pissed off because foreigners say so. You have an activist group who receive money from non-Bahamians and suddenly it's a plot to destabilize the government. You have a dispute with Izmiralian and because he dared to push back, he is villified. As per the dictionary we can debate this view, but as used in everyday language, I'm afraid Ms. Burrows that we are xenophobics...
Why listen to this woman who left town, put her buddy in charge and just coincidentally a Nolli is magically issued at the same time to get her clients off... Give me a break. Typical PLP response..believe it just coz I say so but don't expect me to produce any evidence to support what I say... Democracy PLP style...
Well one thing is certain, Munro is just like the rest, keep everything secret from the stupid Bahamians because they don't have enough sense to read and understand anything for themselves.. We need people like him, Mitchell, Davis and the rest to spit out some s#%t and we believe it just because they say so.. No wonder this country is such a mess..
