Why are we still paying attention to this donkey? We need to be careful that she does not inflame immigrant relations more than they already are. She should be banned from coming here.

I like how illegal immigrants always want to take the moral high road. Haitian ambassadors never feel the need to address the deplorable human conditions in Haiti. The corruption and poor governance is in large part the issue there. Nobody wants to address the poor race relations within Haiti but they are highly critical of the Bahamas and talk of education campaigns. Why not educate Haitians on building their economy, family planning and what it means to stop revolting at every dislike. It's a revolving door of poverty and political instability in Haiti and everyone is being to politically correct about it. We as a people do not wish Haiti or its citizens any harm. We are simply saying as Bahamians that we should not be made to feel guilty for the failure of the Haitian government to protect the interest of its people. In fact, we should be proud of our own leadership that includes the opposition for once standing together to protect our interests. Now if you call stopping illegal immigration xenophobia then so be it.

The Bahamas Bar is full of lazy, incompetent lawyers. It is their incompetence which clogs up the system. They go to court unprepared, and cases are adjourned until though kingdom come. There needs to be penalties when these folks show up Ill prepared. They should pay court administrative fees. Then when you look at some cases like divorce I wonder why it takes forever for a divorce? It is simply because lawyers play games to milk clients dry. The collude and scheme to make as much money as they can. Watch them good. Its a social club and their only goal is to do the least work for the most pay. No real advocacy in what they do. They just want to play big shots around town. The young lawyers are the worst. No real skill and have not practiced their craft. Title grabbers that's all they are.

I would agree that the unions are having too much crap going on nowadays. Idiot leaders that run them have no sense of reason.

The simple issue is our cost to live in the country is too high. But many of us eye too big and watch what others have and try do the same. Our banking system does need an overhaul though. It is archaic and slow moving. Service is poor and the product is shabby.

Install the cameras post haste and let there not be any mistake that we take our border security seriously. While we all agree that there should be a humane and decent approach to this it must be said that the officers are not always faced with pleasant situations. I would imagine that the environment can become quite hostile and some force is used in apprehension. Now justifiable force is debatable. But we have to really make sense of what we are calling abuse. The reality is many people do not go peacefully. There have been reports of officers being spat on, having objects thrown at them etc. So I would absolutely agree that cameras would clear up a lot of the ambiguity of what is being called abuse. If there is evidence to support abuse or mistreatment by all means those responsible should be held to account.

I couldn't agree more. In this key phrase "through the inactions of a select few, who themselves have done very very well at the expense of everyone else," highlights the growing economic disparity in this country. Our middle class is all but gone and there are only a select few who have carved out a hog portion of the economic pie. Government kickbacks and sweetheart deals are too common and the parasites contnue to suck.

Road blocks and operations appear to be the only tools they have. Crime is out of control and the criminal justice system is partially to blame. These repeat offenders are being allowed every opportunity to rob and kill. No bail and hard labour sentences need to be implemented. They should be made to lift bricks, sand and steel building sea walls in this country til they come to their senses. This thing of letting them out to roam the streets and checking in to the police station 2 days a week is nonsense. The labour in prison would be so miserable that they would avoid it at all cost. We are playing around with the death penalty so lets do something that keeps them alive but makes life miserable for them. At the same time I would have every dock and seawall in this country built by the intense labour of prisoners. Fox Hill is overloaded with prisoners who sit around and do nothing waiting for family to bring food. Simple solution. When you commit a crime consider yourself signing a contract to work for free for the Bahamian people for however long you're sentenced. The Privy Council is holding us up with capital punishment so lets get creative in punishing criminals.
