Let's be real here. If this woman is guilty of anything, it was clearly the result of a violent domestic dispute undertaken in a long term pattern of domestic abuse by her husband. The risk to society associated with her release is nil.

The risk of her "jumping bail" is the only issue that supports the magistrate's refusal. This from a judiciary that regularly permits known, career, criminals loose supported by monitoring devices, a number of whom are alleged to have committed murder while on "supervised release".

This is all about this poor woman's race, and her status as a non-citizen and a resulting effort to mollify the masses. Makes a lot of the rabble feel good, but it is a total denial of basic justice. She is innocent until proved guilty of something, and based on the horrific record of our prosecutorial authorities (see missing files in case of notorious drug king), my money is on a finding of "not guilty" if she is ever tried.

Just take a read of what has happened to Jamaica over the past 25 years, if you want a primer on where we are headed.

Let's cut through the fat. Highly embarrassing for government. Bury it. You say froggy, I jump!

"Nothing to see here. Move on."

So what do we know? Gray called, that is an undisputed fact, and the Administrator felt threatened and as a result released an accused felon from lock up. Those too are undisputed facts.

Our stalwart A.G. decides she has insufficient grounds prosecute.

OK. Any consequences? Any public inquiry?

And exactly what makes you think the PLP majority in Parliament will ever agree to the tabling of the report? That is what this is a all about. Another scandal swept under the rug in hopes it will be forgotten.

By all means table a report, or in the alternative report a table.

Right now BEC is forcing people on N.P. island (with the notable exception of our P.M.) who have installed at their own expense serious solar generation capacity to shut their solar down, under threat of a cutoff of all BEC service during nighttime. This policy because BEC cannot survive without the few paying customers it has, among whom are those who can afford significant solar arrays. Good luck on your suggestion that BEC will support a move to solar on N.P. Island.

The stockpile of sand that Mr. Nygard has dredged purportedly to keep his very short(maximum 25 meter) dock access open would nearly fill the Panama Canal. It is laughable to call this maintenance dredging, and anyone who has bothered to spend five seconds on site knows it.

Shocked that the A.G. did not find some pretense to leave the country so the Minister with Portfolio for Taxi Licensing could not Nolle Prosse the case.

Once again Dr. Rollins is spot on. The Westminster system has served the Bahamas very poorly. The system encourages a sclerotic adherence to hierarchy, and the inevitable promotion of unqualified, generally corrupt, old guarders, to the exclusion of bright, dedicated, public spirited representatives.

The "leader" of the party is chosen by an unelected cadre of dole recipients, bought and paid for by this self serving group of professional insiders. The "elections" have zero to do with how real power is parceled out in our country. How does that serve the effort to find truly gifted leadership?

Wake up! This is democracy in form only.
