And since then there have been no other incidences of drugs, shanks, etc. - everything is perfect - prisoners have even earned their Angel wings for Heaven, and are just waiting to die now so they can start practicing cloud hopping.

Absolutely correct. People like Pinder have us fighting over a small pie and complaining over who gets the big piece and who gets a tiny bit bigger piece and so on. Instead we should be making the whole pie bigger and in fact making MORE pies. Then there will be so many slices of various sizes and people's belly's will be so full they won't be able to complain.

You are correct. By keeping the pie small - they get to be the arbiters over who gets what - and too bad for Bahamians who don't get any piece and live on the street begging for money or washing cars with their bucket that they sleep with.

These lofty people have no understanding (or just don't care) about ALL classes of Bahamians of various stripes and how we will ALL be better off if we ALL move forward, upward, onward together. It's so sad how so many Bahamians say that phrase, but don't really know what it means - and how it would be really really great if we were doing it. That old tired argument Tal about "never lived anywhere else", if accepted would just be used as an excuse for others to do the same thing. Those same people who you are saying were born here, raised here, never lived anywhere else are having children here themselves. They know they don't have status - so are they telling us they don't care if their children grow up not having status either? If they don't care about their own children having status, why should we care about them having it?

You are absolutely correct - AND the DNA has hinted from time to time about "regularizing" those who were "born here" contrary to out Constitution. That, I believe, is their biggest weak point. If they can convince us that they are truly for Bahamians - and not for those who just showed up - they have a chance.

On the other hand, the Bahamian people are very much at fault for not putting one DNA in the House so we could all hear their views on various topics and be able to make an informed decision. Instead, we continue in our ignorance, which we love.
