"“If you follow the immigration department they have taking Bahamians before the courts to be prosecuted and they will become even more aggressive because the message must be loud and clear." said Minnis.

really? Yet, he can't name ONE name. Trust me, not a single Bahamian has been hauled before the courts for hiring illegals. Not one.

Bogart is also correct. There is something rotten in Denmark. This is a grand conspiracy to take over this country and get rid of Bahamians entirely. Meanwhile the delegation is off to Geneva to sell us to the merchant ships once more with the WTO.

Sadly, however, there is nothing that can be done about it because Bahamians themselves are complicit in their own destruction. Who hires these foreigners? Bahamians. Who shops in the illegal shanty town stores? Bahamians. Who marries illegal persons to "make" them legal? Bahamians. Who takes up collection in church to help the "poor" Haitians every time they have some issue? Bahamians.

Who is NOT out in the street marching in support of a 50% tax on money transfers to the Caribbean? Bahamians. Who makes up and broadcasts on radio and television (and btc topup computer) ads and info in Creole? Bahamians. Who shops at all the Chinese "convenience" stores in Nassau and buys liquor and cigarettes (and wrappers) from them? Bahamians.

So WHO is destroying the Bahamas? Bahamians. Not the government.

TheMadHatter says...

"...to exploit the Central Bank of The Bahamas' steady exchange control liberalisation that had reduced exchange costs from 25 percent to five percent. "

LOL - so if you can earn like 9% in a trade then subtracting out the 5% to Central Bank, you will make 4%. Minus brokerage fees too.

So Bahamians can be like other people in the world markets as long as we pay our new black slave masters (who replaced the previous white slave masters) a 5% fee.

Poor Bahamians - even with "independence" - we just can't win. Now, we're our own enemies.

Sounds like just another scheme by the IDB to lend us more money to keep us as indentured servants paying interest on debt and eating corned beef.

Oracle is right. If such things truly were meant to benefit the people then grid tie-ins and solar energy itself would be made legal.

Currently solar panels remain illegal in this country. They are just allowed for some politically connected persons and no arrests are made. But anytime someone actually tries to do anything significant with them - they get a visit from the authorities.

Legalize solar or shut the hell up with this IDB nonsense before VAT has to go to 50%.

He just trying to trick KP into giving him some of our blood & sweat VAT money instead of using it to pay our foreign debt like the official lie says it should.

From The Guardian this morning:
"Maynard recommended that BPL immediately schedule maintenance, which would involve scheduled shutdowns in areas as the work is done.

He said that overhaul would need to take place at night, but in order to do so effectively, BPL needs to bring back some of the disengaged staff on contract."

This after a 4th fire broke out Saturday night (this weekend) - this time at the Blue Hill Road plant.

Is Government going to wait until the entire power system is destroyed before they rehire those union workers? Hasn't the power of the union been demonstrated? They have the "power" in their hands.

Us and the government can only beg.

Duty is off baby food.
VAT off baby food.
Let's now try free baby food - or even paying people to have babies like they do in Hungary.

Let's try having 140,000 people chasing after 97,000 jobs.

Let's see how that affects crime (since we are too ignorant to predict it).

TheMadHatter says...

You can see the war is lost right? Government would rather "privatise", "sign new leases", and "spruce up" rather than kick out the Haitian vendors who are behind on their rent cause they spend all their money on baby food and wire transfer.

If you are a Haitian in this country, you can do or not do whatever you feel. Government gah take care of ya.

You just keep juicin' while they sprucin'.

TheMadHatter says...

BahamaPundit - i agree100%. They won't pass those. They don't want the people to see the money (only pay it).
