John...for once we agree. You are spot on here. That's why i keep saying we gotta get these Chinese outta here operating food stores. People need to stop shopping those places.
Here is the report. Food poisoning, reduction of male sperm counts, selling BTC for peanuts, it's all that kinda stuff. I believe the D average is also deliberate. Keep the people ignorant so they remain willing slaves.
If Ingraham had implemented the Freedom of Information Act and if Finance would publish monthly ACTUAL figures in & out online then WE would already know this. None of these silly "Budget" figures which are only pipe dreams and bong schemes.
Secrecy is killing us. Monies going any old place and all kinda citizenship ad in the paper with no picture. No wonder we Bahamians have to wait long for passport.
As usual, the word "union" appears in any article like this. Ive seen this kind of thing dozens of times. Sounds like BPL had a chairperson who was trying to do her job, and we all know that's not allowed in this country wherever millions of dollars are involved.
Good idea. I like it. Just lean more toward certificate type programs that actually qualify you to DO something (like getting Cisco router certification, scuba instructor, flight instructor, welder, harbour pilot, massage therapist, legal aid, dental assistant, etc.)
Too many bachelor degrees out there working cash register....nobody wants to hire anyone who knows everything but can DO nothing. Besides, until Trump completes his work, everything will continue to be DONE in China and India.
If students think a degree is gonna get them a job, i can tell them all it will get them is a number on a waiting list.
I like the spirit of the law, but it is simply much too complicated.
You could better help Over-the-Hill people by setting up a very low cost teacher training program and getting some new blood into our schools. Also building new and expanding existing recreation facilities for after school programs.
Land for these pools and basketball courts etc could easily be obtained by a "Public Domain" order bulldozing down some of these big churches.
Our kids don't need to be in church all day & night Saturday and Sunday and Wednesday night. They need to be learning to weld and learning to fix aircraft engines etc.
Tell the tractor man when he finish dem shanty towns, get started on the churches.
....i'm now wait for a regular clown in here to make an irrelevant reply such as "Singapore outlaws gum altogether. You can't possess it or even import it as a tourist. One of the reasons their crime rate is so low."
odrap4 - thanks for your political support. Yes, it is sad how you are "glad you got the papers" out of fear that the bank going out of business might have meant you never got them. Kinda a better late than never attitude.
I'm also glad you got the papers, but my point is that as Bahamians we are often in positions where when someone throws mud in our face, all we can do is stand there and say " i'm just glad it wasn't cow manure."
We need to be much more "uppity" in this country. Unfortunately our desire to "harshly" punish criminals by subjecting them to anal rape - reduces the drive in many to stand up and protest, because they fear the lifelong physical and psychological damage that "might" be inflicted on them in prison.
Every single penalty clause in our Law is structured the same way: "A fine not exceeding $X or a term of imprisonment not exceeding Y months/years or both such fine and imprisonment." In other words, you could go to jail for throwing chewing gum on the sidewalk.
The kind of public protest we witnessed yesterday in D.C. could never happen here. The Antifa people did not have a permit, they just showed up. You can't just show up and protest here.
Here the massa has us all well subdued under the whip.
I think some govt ministry should investigate this in detail. If the method could be revealed how to keep 50 employees on staff and showing up to work for 49 weeks without pay - THAT info could be very helpful in keeping costs down for govt if they go ahead with the Lucaya hotel purchase.
In fact, the economy is so bad in fpo maybe some persons would even pay the govt to allow them to be "employees" - just so they can put something on their resume.

Did she happen to mention whether or not RBC is one of the number of banks that hold house and land Deeds for YEARS after the loan is paid off?
I don't know if they are. Just wondering.
