The situation in the Bahamas is simple. You see the mothers with their young boys (and girls) in the shops - they tell them not to touch something, then they tell them again, then they tell them again, then they tell them again, then they tell them again.
Somewhere along there, they should calmly and sensibly swat their behind to make their point more clear.
But NO - instead they keep saying it and doing nothing, until they "get vex" - and then they ill-treat / brutalize the child.
Young men remember this - if even only subconsciously - and when they grow up they take it out on another woman - getting back at that big monster (which women are in their eyes) who beat them as a child. This is even if they do not remember, or realize why they are doing it.
Yes, you mean the failed Constitution referendum? Where the FNM waiting until just a couple months before election to do the referendum and didn't put any (hardly) explanation to the people about the points they were making - and the PLP was able to lie and tell the people all kinds of foolishness to get them scared while the FNM stood by quietly and did not use the power of ZNS tv, the newspapers, etc to education the people differently?
Yeah I was around then, and remember it clearly. It was clear that Ingraham just wanted to show his face on the subject and not actually achieve it.
Absolutely correct. If Ingraham had improved our Constitution by making Senators or the Governor General elected persons, and implementing a strong Freedom of Information Act (only allowing information from 2012 forward) - that would also have helped us greatly.
But they told the people they could just suck teeth. So now we are here where we are.
Paying VAT to put foreigners through our public schools for free, and giving them free health clinics - while our people suffer.
That's the legacy of the FNM - hurry up and give passport before election - party.
If I were him, being snubbed like that, I would just take a 2 week (or longer) vacation to Ft. Lauderdale and chill in a hotel, go to the movie theatre, the mall, whatever. Let the rest of them deal with it on their own.
Where / when is this threat ??????????? I am not doubting you - but can you please enlighten us? I'm a pretty good follower of news and policies and have not hear about this.

Yeah, Mr. Sumner says all of that - but does he have the GUTS to pull his members together for a nationwide strike !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, he will just buy more Vaseline and bend over and take it - just like we have always done - and let our country sink into the ocean.
Why not get all of his members to get ALL of their employees (and friends a family) to have a buying strike on Thursday July 9th. Nobody buy anything - except medicine, bus fare to get to work, and TRUE necessities. don't spend money that day. Send a message that we cannot afford NHI - by showing that we cannot afford to spend (for one day). Do it now before the reality of NHI makes it where you really don't have any money to spend and then you'll have a buying strike cause you ain't got no money anyhow.
I applaud the Government efforts to sabotage the economy. Only by making our economy and the country as a whole really SUCK - can we hope to discourage the migrants from coming here by the boatload. If there is nothing here to come for, then they might stop coming. LOL.
