Absolutely. I'm sure you know (from my other comments on this site) that my comment was said jokingly. I just hope Mitchell doesn't chicken out before September with that school visa thing.

Another big problem is that there is NO WAY for an adult in this country who is a college graduate and knows a lot about a particular subject area/s and has worked in the workforce for several years to become a teacher.

I challenge any of you to find a way.

Go to the COB website and see what required courses are needed to obatin a teaching certificate and/or degree. Try to find out when these courses are held.

Call them and ask them. There is no answer.

There is NO WAY to become a teacher, except to go to the union and they hire you as a temp and arrange for some courses and they give you a certificate from COB whenever they are truly assured that you are "one of them."

Again, I challenge anyone to find a web link to a page that lays out specifically what courses and other requirement are necessary to become a teacher and when such courses are actually offered that you can take them.

One million % correct !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If every single church in this country would simply vaporize into thin air overnight tonight - we would then be able to consider ourselves surely blessed by God, because HE knows what they've been up to.

Yep - in the Bahamas, you never quite know when you actually have a building permit. You can get one, but then when you build you are told you need an occupancy permit, and then you are told you need a fire extinguisher and all sorts of things and you go and get all of them and then someone shows up and says you need to have a cement slab poured for your garbage cans to sit on - they cannot sit on the ground - so you do that - and then some other official shows up and says that you need ...

and on it goes. Meanwhile the clock is ticking, bank interest is buidling, and interested customers lose enthusiasm - or winter comes and their flights are cancelled, etc.

There are no rules for doing anything here. That is why so many things fail, because you cannot follow rules that don't exist.

We keep hearing about a one-stop shop for investors, and we keep hearing about it, and we keep hearing about it, and...

Good point about Customs. BUT the problem is not with the Commish. He locks up people and takes them to Court. Then magically they are out on bail. He had an article about 6 months ago saying that his people keep locking up the same people over and over and over again. The AG has been talking about these 10 new courts now for nearly 2 years. When will they be open? The Commish locks 'em up, but others let them loose again. Anyone ever wonder what happens to all the bail money?

Please message me when you are ready to go to Haiti. I will personally buy you a one-way ticket.

You can go down there and improve your genetics and build a swimming pool in your back yard, or whatever you want to do. Just be sure to go to the clinic and get all your shots first - LOL.

Grassroot - what the heck are you talkin about? Where are wealthy Bahamians (all two dozen of them) sending their money?

Man you need to get real. Either Haitians are sending money out of the country or they are not. Yes or No. Either we need money in this country for us to be able to survive. Yes or No.

You can't possibly shop at the same grocery store I do. I know I need money when I get to the cash register. Maybe you don't.

It would not have to be that way, if YOU would agree to pay all the bills for everybody. Why don't you start writing cheques?

Money doesn't grow on trees man. You must really hate Bahamians.
