You are supposed to be getting the "service" of Perry them paying down the international debt to the IMF and IDB so that they don't devalue our dollar. However, Perry them ain't payin on no debt, and just last week he gone over to China to ask to borrow MORE money - so that means he will be looking to increase the 7.5% to probably 9% by June.

RENEW - ought to be introduced to these little thingies a lot of gas stations and other businesses have called CCTV cameras. They are pretty cheap and a security booth at the dump gate could be equipped with numerous monitoring screens to monitor the whole thing 24/7.

Oh - wait - have you seen the "security booth"? It looks like somebody was in the midst of building an old-style 1920's out-house and a Cabinet Minister must have been passing by and said "Hey, wait a minute - I bet that would make a pretty darn good security booth. Hold your horses there fella."

Wow, here we go again;

1. If only Mr. Smith would put forth this much energy for persons of other nationalities, maybe even a few Bahamians now and then thrown in, just to fool the public, eh?

2. Was Mr. Joseph the only detainee at the Detention Center kept in inhumane and degrading conditions? What is to come of the others? Don't they deserve better? This reminds me of the Liam Neeson movie "Taken" where we learn about all these tourist girls being captured in France and sold as slaves to wealthy Arab freaks. At the end he saves his daughter, and that's the end of it. Like - to heck with the other thousand who were taken away. So I guess, to heck with the others maltreated at the detention center (if any).

3. 2000 hungry lawyers? Maybe so - however the LAW does not allow these hungry lawyers to be paid from their potential success in court. In other words, they can't go like the lawyers in the USA who have advertisements that say if they don't win you don't pay. Not only that - but lawyers here are not allowed to adverise at all in any instance.

4. As for Mr. Takitota - yes he was "awarded" a million by the Court - BUT last I heard he still had not actually received it. Supposedly he was advised (by someone/someones) that he ought to have been awarded more and the case is on appeal for more money. I always tell people, when Govt is actually going to give you money - grab it while you can and run - cause things can change quick - esp. if it's election time - LOL.

Perhaps some kind of truce can be worked out to solve this most vexing problem? How about if we offer all of the Haitians and Haitian-Bahamians equally divided plots of land in Andros - taking the entire island and dividing it up and giving it to them? The Bahamians there can be given crown land equal or greater to whatever land they own in Andros on another Bahamian island of their choice and a Bah Dev Bank loan to build a house on it, and the appraised value of their current homes in cash.

In return the Haitian/Haitian-Bahamians promise not to live on any other Bahamian island. No deal unless all agree. In addition, there would be no immigration there - they can bring as many more people there as they like. However, any from Andros found elsewhere will be sentenced to life in prison and any new captured at sea from the south will be taken to Andros instead of Nassau like they are now.

I suspect, after while, they will even start to get upset when they see the new boats being towed in.

Just a thought. I'd hate to lose Andros, but sometimes you just gotta compromise to get things done.

While all of that is true, it does not justify someone burning it down. We cannot attack our own selves - or else we will lost this country to outsiders.

Absolutely correct and on target. Unfortunately, although it is taught as something bad that happened after Columbus' time in history - slavery is pretty much loved by most Bahamians. We seem to love being slaves as long as we can have "pride" as you say - like in having "our own" currency - but of course one that nobody else wants - LOL. But the fruits of stupidity are being harvested every day for all to witness.

Yes, we should get rid of our dollar and use the US dollar starting yesterday.

Don't they realize that they have been sold into bondage aboard a Chinese slave ship? The shackles are just not made of metal anymore.

It has nothing to do with black/white/yellow in this new slavery system - it is rich vs poor. The poor are overbreeding so rapidly, that they just have no leverage to argue anything with their "masters" or else they won't have enough money to buy food for their babies or pay their "light". Why do they do that?

Like Pres. Bush said, "It's a new world order." Time to play that old Bob Marley "Redemption Song."

I guess the migrant community has already had their powerful lobbyists visiting all the members of Parliament and the Cabinet convincing them to relieve the pressure on this most important community in the Bahamas - way more important than any Bahamians of course.

The list of 100 items is being put together, you can bet:

rice
plaintain
ramen-noodles
grits
flour
turkey-fly
wood
nails
tar-paper
clothing
baby-food & formula
diapers
salt,
any medications used during pregnancy,
any medications used during delivery,
propane
gasoline
generators
electrical-wiring
lightbulbs
pvc-pipe
binoculars
kites
ziploc-bags
large-garbage-bags
bicycles and bicycle-parts
coolers and lunch-boxes
pick-axe
machete

Those will be reduced first. What comes after that will just be the table scraps thrown at Bahamians to keep them fooled.

I stand corrected. It did start under the first Christie admin. However, here is Ingraham sucking up to the Chinese in his own words in his own letter to the editor:

I am so glad to see that the Attorney General has now increased her knowledge up to the level of the average Bahamian who has known for years this very same information she has now "discovered" via this impressive study.

This is fantastic. I agree with her, that knowing the problem is the first step toward a solution.

Thank goodness we might be making the first step by March. Even though we ought to be on the 10th or 20th step by now - thank powers greater than us that we are least nearly to step one. Better than step zero, I suppose.

By the way, will she get some kind of graduation type certificate for this? I mean, certificates are normally given as a testament to increased knowledge.

No - all they have to do is keep going to church every Sunday and on Wednesday nights and give whatever they can find to the pastors, and they will be fine.

It's been working well all these years. The Bahamas is moving up! up! up! Yaaaahhh!!! Support the pastors !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's build MORE churches !!!!! We don't need no schools.

LOL
