Again, no discussion of whether challengers will be allowed to speak to delegates and to the convention attendees before the votes.
Obviously havent learned from what they did to Sears last time. I dont know why they sought independence from the British monarchy...and then become a monarchy themselves.
At least they're having a convention. The FNM aint. But it doesnt really matter if challengers cant communicate with the electorate.
"and the Oxford Economics report acknowledged there were "legitimate concerns" about WTO's impact..."
Really???? What legitimate concerns? How can they say this when nobody will say what the Hell WTO rules are? This is just outright nonsense and flimflam talk.
Joining the WTO will not be "the Bahamas changing", it will be the Bahamas being forced to change. In other words we are a bunch of dumb negroes that need "Europeans" to come back and take over and show us how to diversify and be transparent.
Really? We are that dumb? Go ahead Zhivargo, sign us up to a declaration of dumbness.
"Such obstacles include the cost and reliability of electricity; access to capital (especially for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises); the cost and ease of doing business; bureaucracy and red tape in dealing with government agencies; a lack of transparency and accountability in the investment approvals process; and the need to improve governance and the rule of law.

Well i guess we can kiss that goodbye. We love our demons too much. We is kiss da boongie of demons day and night.
Criminal defense lawyers makin all kinda money. Ive often wondered if it would be best to take newborn Bahamian babies straight from the delivery room or incubator directly to prison. At least if they grew up in prison it would seem normal to them and going there would not be a shock to the system. Good idea? They going there anyway so why delay? Will help reduce class sizes since only non-Bahamians kids would be outside of prison. Probably more benefits too if you think about it.
"Parliament has therefore made its intentions clear that the Act, and the powers of the defendant [URCA] thereunder should apply to..."
Parliament can have whatever "intentions" it likes, however, statute law does not override Treaties or the Constitution.
What if another newly minted Act said "This Act requires all citizens to attend their township's community square or meeting place for 30 minutes each day and give worship to Beelzebub chief of the demons."
That Act would have no effect because it runs contrary to the Constitution which affords freedom of religion to everyone. So nobody can be forced to worship Beelzebub or Jesus or the Easter Bunny. It would be a silly Act that is a waste of time.
The same with this utilities act which runs contrary to a treaty.
If Parliament can override a Treaty then we dont have to worry about WTO. Parliament can just override it in the future whenever they feel like. They are more powerful than the gods of Mount Olympus. I dont know why these powerful beings even needed to run for election. They should have just walked into the House and took their seats years ago.
Cooper and his PLP brethren must not have realized we were putting our young men in prison while they were just in power 2 years ago? The FNM wont legalize it or else they already would have and if PLP gets back in they wont either. The leader of PLP wont make a promise to dissolve the House and call for a new election if they have not legalized it within 6 months of winning election. If they "bad" let them make that promise in plain English.

No sir. Neither is freedom and democracy. I think the majority would prefer to pay a few bucks rather than live under a dictatorship.
FNM. I notice one of their letters is in deMocracy.
I guess 1 out of 9 is a good normal Bahamian batting average.
