Sometimes, I even wonder do these politicians even hear themselves speak? Do they actually listen and consider the words they say? Or are these scripts given to them by someone else and they just read them off like zombies?
What a disgusting and insulting comment from a man who knows full well that his government is in the process of signing us on to the WTO to make us all slaves. What FOOL is going to invest money in any business here - simply to be run over like a bulldozer when the WTO let's the big boys in to take over?
Any Bahamian with money is hard at work on the Internet every single night looking a citizenship/residency requirements in places like Uruguay, Costa Rica, the Canary Islands, Fiji, Thailand, you name it. Looking for any fire escape they can run way on the moment that WTO is signed.
These politicians do not realize they are not ruling over the citizens of the 1950s who did not have access for information world-wide. Strange. Very strange.
What will be left here in 2 years are all the poor Bahamians (who couldn't afford plane tickets) to work as slaves for the foreigners who will be allowed to come in a rule over us way worse than the UBP.
You four commenters are unbelievable. WOW. Coopers and SavMor are not thieving. They were using a device to help save power. It's like if you bought an "Energy Supplement" from that same SavMor drugs (let's say) which touted itself to be a vitamin containing B12 and magnesium and other vitamins, minerals and herbs which can lead you a feeling of increased energy and less fatigue. Who would not want that? Thousands of such bottles are sold in Freeport every month.
However, one day the police knock on your door and accuse you of being in possession of an illegal drug known as marijuana. You are shocked. They search your home and find the vitamin bottle. They then inform you that this supplement contains some marijuana and you are now going to jail for having and using illegal drugs.
Sealice? WTF you say? Did you see marijuana listed on the ingredients on the outside of the bottle? It was not. How were you to know? Do you we now have to send every food/vitamin substance we purchase off to Atlanta via Fedex to be tested to ensure it contains no illegal substances to ensure we don't go to jail?
Who made the vitamin supplement? Where did the drug store buy it from? What is the name of the supplier? Surely this would be on the C-10 customs form? Easily traceable.
Same here. Who made/sold this "energy saving" device? Did they themselves know it was nefarious? Or did they just find it online and decided this would be a great thing to resell in Freeport? Just like bringing in hot water heaters or something to sell or like many Bahamians do sell phones on Facebook? What if one of those phones was found to contain a secret eavesdropping chip made by China and known to the NSA, should you then be sent straight away to Guantanamo? Do you have to have a Ph.D. in electrical circuit analysis now to be a cell phone vendor?
I talk about it every day on this platform, but now is a time for grieving the loss of this child's life. That only a very few have heeded the words, wisdom, and unbridled genius of TheMadHatter and consequently asked the GG to oust him from office and insert me in his place is a testament to the unwillingness of the majority to seek a solution. But again, those are subjects for another day.
Lack of financial transparency in government finances is the single biggest problem in this country - from which all other problems emanate or are at least very closely connected. The cost of operating the delivery room at PMH, for example, im sure would be an eye opener. The cost of bullets in the police force - for example - would highlight the amount of training officers receive in target practice. Everything is tied to money. The cost of customs exemptions to churches would show how much they (may) be on par with the number houses for taking money from the poor. There is so much you can see when you "Follow the money" which im quite sure is why our govt ensures our tax monies are unfollowabable...abull.
"Commissioner Ferguson insisted the force had never failed to do its job, stressing that the manpower and resources available ensures that law and order will be maintained."
I could not agree more. Resources are plentiful and cheap. I saw a box of 15 medium sized plastic bags in the food store just the other day for only $3.45
Im not worried either. Im sure it will turn up any day now. I myself usually check behind any framed pictures hanging on walls. They are commonly used to hide documents, money, and ting. I once found a treasure map behind one of my frames and became very excited until i read carefully and realized it was just part of a brochure from an Orlando theme park. These things can be very daunting and complicated. I would imagine there are hundreds of missing files across numerous government departments which are each envious of the attention this one is getting.
Family planning. How much does Govt contribute to the family planning center in Palmdale every year? $5000? What that supposed to do? Buy a box of bandaids?
Thet need to get real about family planning and tell the pastors where to jump.
