The bottom line is we lack decent ethical people in our ranks who would wish to serve. We cannot govern ourselves. Our failures started with Majority rule and have only gotten more catastrophic at time and personalities have worn on. We still cannot look ourselves in anything but a fun house mirror. We are surrounded by our own garbage, and seem to like it. We are shameless, and therefore without true pride. We reward laggards, we penalize those who would stand apart, stand tall. Is this crew better? time will tell. we had better all hope so, as we are close to done. Do the Crime, get the time! Forfeit ill gotten gains. Name and shame publicly, not in whispers, innuendo. Do not taunt and threaten to reveal in the house, Drop it RED!
I believe Obie has delusions of grandeur, needing great crowds of staff to bolster his ego! I think our foreign service and foreign Tourism presence are the most under utilized and bloated departments in existence. Seems to not be an original thought among them, glorified errand boys and bag people, receiving perks and "allowances" at our expense. Pathetic, costly, and very obvious.

Break this cycle of "political crumbs" and fear that comes with political hiring, or be buried by it.
It is perplexing that Licensees are still required to submit the "application" under a yet again extended deadline, while the Government insists the Act will be repealed or replaced. $100 to apply for a soon to be non-existent situation?
Fix all the broken basic Government services and processes first, the stuff you are actually responsible for, then start dreaming. Charging off with myriad ways to spend more money is what got the last guys thrown out.....

yes, I believe Minnis is heading for public Finance accountability, just as K.Dorsett is heading for his crowning achievement: First politician ever locked up for fraud/kickbacks/corruption! May he not be the last!
Bahamians are crapped on by their Government as bad as if not worse than expatriates, and certainly for a much longer period. (decades) I personally know of many expatriates given mere days to leave the country, for no decent reason other than some connected (and by that I mean voluntarily compromised Bahamians) wanted their Job. That was in the 70's, and nothing has changed.
