Of course Majority Rule (which infers Black rule, itself quite racist) is for all Bahamians: We have all suffered and continue to suffer incompetence equally!
Both White and Black Bahamians have served prior to majority rule and after!

Will be interesting to see what happens with the Cold/Flu/respiratory/covid infection levels post
party season. Numbers are exploding elsewhere globally.
Hopefully we duck it.

Pure BS while the government cannot get the most basic of government services accessible to Bahamians. All the while compounding business costs and overheads, and dictating margins and profitability.
Just goes to show Intelligence ain't necessarily smart.
Vaporware.

And so pharmacies will reduce their quantity on hand, running out will be more frequent.
And then, when the desired result does not occur, who or what category is next?
Who will invest if there is no return on investment in infrastructure or inventory?
And the power bills, salaries, taxes continue unabated......

The_Oracle says...

I find it funny the Pharmacy out east, allegedly owned by the current minister of health, was open.

Rampant inflation is just starting, and it is global, caused by governments and their shutdowns.
So our government decides to Control Locally what it can do nothing about.
It is reactionary and will worsen the situation. Looks for the ensuing stories of lack of availability at government clinics and pharmacies, and medications with long past expiry dates.

The_Oracle says...

Price control is an illusion, what will end up controlled (and limited) is availability.
It will also discourage further investment in the economy by existing players thus controlled.

The_Oracle says...

Price controls are the tool of an ineffective government desiring one outcome but producing another. And they never learn.

The_Oracle says...

Political tripe aside, let's follow this through its inevitable and destructive process.
Who's next? Lawyers? Car Mechanics? plumbers! Why stop at all?
It's inevitable for a government so stupid as to believe this will somehow fix the inflation that they actually cause and caused in the first place (they shut the economy down correct?) that they will continue on into other realms.
Who will import eggs if there is not only no profit in it but loss? Who will pay 3 times as much for steak (or whatever is left if its price is increased to include the losses from the selling of eggs?
Unbalancing a fragile economy is bad strategy when business is the largest tax revenue generator you have.

Forever electing people with bright ideas and no clue! As long as Government has a private sector that is an apparently willing villain/target they forever have a scapegoat to blame for their own mistakes.
If one takes "price control" (a misleading name, intended to fool the masses, margin control would be more truthful) to its extreme, you end up with a crippled economy full of price anomalies. one step further you have scarcity.
Private sector learns from mistakes, or goes under. The elected repeat their mistakes endlessly and learn nothing.
