All they need to do is legislate allowing the private sector to install hybrid grid tied/battery systems according to the Canadian Electrical code.
(the code we use nationally)
BEC is a dinosaur, staffed by dinosaurs.
Let the private sector develop this potential,
the private sector is the only sector to develop anything,
aside developing crippling taxes!

Subsidize everyone for housing, food, health care, medicines, etc etc
But all the signs at the National parks in the U.S. say:
"please do not feed the animals,
they will become dependent"

It is unsustainable, but we will ride it to the last mouthful
and demonize those who earn, save, produce, and carry all the riders.
Government has been borrowing against the countries GDP,
which is us, the people.
Is it any wonder that they think we are here for their exclusive use and abuse?

Welcome to the Twillight Zone!
Have no fear,
no one else knows what is going on either,
We are all equally "disadvantaged" in our Bahama Land.
With all the surge of interest, bids a flying, advocacy and promise,
we are no forther ahead than 1-2-3 years ago.
If anything, we are further back as Government is now involved!

I wondered when one of them was going to bring up raising the minimum wage as a way to "soften the blow" to the working class.
This of course would be akin to twisting the knife already stabbed into the working man and the business backbone,
as a good % would get laid off!
Get done now whatever you can afford and need to do,
be looking at ways to get leaner than you already are,
We are going back to the fishing village/subsistence living model!

Actually signed this time?
By the way,
only idiots would make the controlling height over mean low water less than 56 ft,
the controlling height on the inter-coastal waterway from Norfolk Virginia to Miami Fla.
Or, maybe we don't really want the large yachts going through and stopping in Freeport on their way to Abaco........
I understand 20 odd ft clearance is planned.......

So finally, someone with the fortitude to tell the truth:
We the People must pay for the folly of Government!

Perhaps if the truth was the starting point,
and fiscal responsibility adhered to,
we would not be running at the wall at 100mph today.
No one walks away unscathed in this scenario.
Brace for impact FNM and PLP alike!!

Our Government is in a ever increasing bind however:
How to continue to "Protect Bahamian Business interests" and look out for the "Small Man"
in the face of their agreement under WTO rules ( and the EU-EPA trade agreement) to "Liberalize trade" and open the Bahamas up in all regards, goods and services, to "Foreign direct investment"
Granted, this has predominantly been orchestrated by the FNM administrations, and the PLP,
(The most nationalistic and protectionist) have been left holding the bag on implementation, and under the heavy pressure of the IMF and budget deficits across the board.
The proverbial rock and a hard place.
Seems to be a shortage of direct foreign money to pillage and skim, so looks like Bahamians will get skimmed sufficiently to please the Budget requirements and the IMF.

A paid Consultant is going to tell the payee what he wants to hear,
especially if the payee is incompetent. (Government)
Mr. Rolle and the consultants (from British Customs consultants to Caribbean Trade consultants) have been indoctrinated by the IMf, wto, idb, oecd, the EU trade delegation
as Mr. Rolle was attached to the IMF organization for some time.
The Government has its fiscal back against the wall,
but no one has taken away their credit cards.
They keep buying the "people" with Free this, Free that, Free Health care, Free Meds,
and employing more and more unqualified people to dole the freebies out.
No one stops to think how much all this free stuff will cost them.

Seems that splitting a company onto different "divisions" to get all aspects of a service company under the threshold could work if licensed separately.

I say this to illustrate:
Measure and counter measure.
We are not a record/receipt keeping or even a check book reconciling people.
The Government has now dis-incentivized us to become so.
Long live the cash economy!

And thus starts the lobbying of various special interests,
all with their bona fide rational behind being excluded.
John Q public should be out there lobbying for himself,
as it is he who will get hurt the worst.
Prepare yourself people,
Your Government, no matter the party,
No matter the promises, broken and forgotten,
is sticking you, the public,
with the cost of their waste, largess and corruption.
The IMF said so.
So Said,
So Done.
