Not to dampen the enthusiasm of the budding entrepreneur but the reality is,
the systems have been re-worked to beat the stuffing out of you while extorting both legit fees and bribes while dangling the next carrot inches from your brow.
No one thwarts and stymies a Bahamian like
another Bahamian.
That the Foreign investor glides in on KY is a confounding artifact to be sure.
One would have to be certifiable (or connected) to want to start a business in this country.
Beyond the pale.

Sounds like Mr Murphy needs to be dismissed.
Unless things have changed at fox hill I don't know how any compassionate human being could not resign as soon as appointed, the conditions are so deplorable. Lodged somewhere between 17-18th century.
Another national disgrace, right up there with the deplorable state of national Healthcare.

They do have Mariners, but they are able seamen, not promoted and older, not into the political pecking order, so they remain Small boat handlers/Deck hands.
Sad but The Defense force is just another Civil service job for life for many.

Yes, very sad, but also indicative of a Government setting itself up as the peoples caretaker, and then having to burn money to do it.
Government can never compensate for societal issues, but often tries and fails.
It also creates the problems to begin with.

Crime down 39% but population down by 70%........
Maths is obviously not his strong suit.
Irrespective of that, what is the point of reporting crime?
Is there ever a satisfactory resolution for the victim?
Is stolen property ever compensated for? Recovered?

The Bahamian people have sacrificed far beyond what is reasonable considering the painful
Government approach to this Pandemic.
On again off again, complex and contradictory rules, Micro rules,
Layers of poorly written documents to read and understand,
Prosecutions and incarcerations, Fines, Long lines everywhere,
Lines I might add entirely created by the Authority.
Add all this to terrible implementation at the Civil Service level (Customs, Immigration, Min of Health) for Travel.
Most of the economic Damage done, and still being done via Authority Micromanagement is unnecessary. KISS technology would have sufficed.
Extending it is pointless. The Cat was let out of the bag by none other than the Authority.

Hong Kong residents are looking to exit that Island /Global Economic Hub due to Main land Chinese policy changes/clamp down,
A shame we ain't even on their radar. Can you imagine 300K high net worth individuals and companies setting up in say GB, Finally fulfilling the original intent?
I read Ireland is their possible target location.

The Hurricane flooding could be alleviated also,
however the GBPA and principals is in absentia, along with Hutchinson.
Canals need dredging, Seawalls collapsing, most notably at Port Lucaya, the tourism showpiece.

I ran into a dozen in 4 different hospitals 10 years ago.....
Just another part of our 50 year long Brain Drain.
