"*The charges also focused on Salame donating to the 2022 congressional campaign of his then-girlfriend, Michelle Bond. Reports suggested he also made campaign contributions on behalf of a corporation, violating U.S. law.*"

Funds for political contributions allegedly came from Alameda Research. Also allegedly, Alameda Research's funds came from Sam taking FTX clients funds and diverting them to his girlfriend running Alameda for trading purposes. Alameda is where all the losses occurred. Ryan was also loaned 55 million from Alameda

It doesnt look like anyone had clean hands or principles. It may just have been greed as opposed to deliberate attempts at fraud. In the end the outcome is the same.

"*well-placed sources told Tribune Business on condition of anonymity that the total overcharged sum could amount to $500,000 or possibly be even higher given the uncertainty created by the destruction of borrower files.*"

"*Baker Tilly Gomez, to conduct an independent examination focused on interest calculations during the period 2019 to 2023. The examination confirmed that Auto H & L was in breach of the Rate of Interest Act and a final report was provided to Auto H & L in January 2024.”*

"*Auto H & L was one of its licensees under the Financial and Corporate Service Providers Act 2020.*"

So the Auto H&L was a liscense as of 2020, but going back to 2019 to 2023 they were charging customers in excess of the max interest rate allowed by law, looks like 20%(?) . for 4 years...they were overcharging. and nobody knew.

The question is who finally alerted the Commission that something that they had oversight of had a serious issue?

Nobody is "against" a hospital, just as no one was "against" us hosting Carifta. What we saw however that left to their own devices money gets spent to tune of millions on completely unnecessary and unrelated items. The Carifta LOC spent 6million in excess on a meet that was last costed at 500,000. **That** is what the questions are about, are we getting quality and value for money and are we sure we wont build this thing and end up with a building that cant be used for decades.. like the national security building. Have they planned properly and exercised their fiduciary duty to assure us of that? Seeing as they cant even answer a question about traffic

"*Minister Dr Michael Darville emphasised in response that the project will involve “a combination of foreign and Bahamian labour”.*

Nobody believes this. Not the way Darville wants us to interpret it. Recall that John Pinder couldnt even tell us if 30% of the labour at the Pointe was Bahamian. And for the majority of the project, there were clearly no Bahamians with exception of the security guard

"*Philip “Brave” Davis asked yesterday if “naysayers” ar.. I know that they are confused,” he said, “and they are baffled...*"

This is not a leader.

The correct response would be to allay fears, not to make those in opposition public enemy number one. And having sat as a part of the official opposition in this country, Mr Davis should be well aware that the story we are told from Parliament, very often has layers and layers of what we're not told.

The Bahamian people are correct to take their fate in th eff ir own hands and ask what for the meaning of "*the*", "*is*", "*should*", "*would*", "*may*" and on and on. We have been bamboozled over and over again.

Please ask Jerome Fitzferald again why he couldnt tell cancer patients in Old Trail that theyd been bathing in toxic gas for years

"Young" has zero correlation to good leadership, neither does "old".

**The main problem in this country is ego. But the only people who can wield ego with consequences, good or bad, are the people in power, i.e. the Minister.**

I was also very happy that the dolphins were rescued. But I also remember my reaction when I watched the video of the rescue, *why is that dolphim thrashing about? It must be so scared*. I know nothing about dolphins or animal rescues, that's just what I thought. When I read Sam Duncombes response to the move yesterday I saw her vocalize that thought, she said basically, "*why put them through that stress? Our plan was to stabilize them where they were giving them adequate medical, food and water supplies while looking for a place to hold them permanently*", ... and that permanent place could have very turned out to be Atlantis.. or not. It makes sense to me that the move under any circumstances would be stressful, but a healthy animal would likely handle stress better than a near starved one. So why take the risk?

**The only difference I see between what Sam Duncombe suggested and the action the Minister spearheaded is that Mrs Duncombe advised stabilizing the dolphins before moving them. Seems like good advice, ignored once again, cause Minister knows best**

So the canary was singing when COVID started. There were internationally published reports of the coming rise in mental health and domestic violence incidents. I know Mrs Seymour means well but I often wonder what politicians actually do to prepare for public life. I know the answer, they dont, the general sentiment is you start working after you get sworn in, at least it's pretty clear that's what theyve been doing to date. If you want to be an MP please familiarize yourself with the issues the country is facing in general, the laws governing the issues of the day, your suggestions for improving those laws and the enforcement.

It's in the mind. You cant build a railing long enough or high enough. Transform the mind.

No idea what happened here but 3/4 suicides attempted suicides in 2 weeks for the Bahamas is a national crisis.

Its only through grace that any of us retain a strong mind. If life were to really throw the kitchen sink at us not many could battle and win. But I often wonder if these rash of suicides are the result of unrealistic expectations. Life is hard. It is a battle. I think our parents understood that because they didnt have Facebook and Instagram and tiktok, all they knew was they had to work. I get the sense that young people believe they should live the life of Riley or everything is useless, and really what we're here to do is build a work. There's nothing more fulfilling than executing good work, we're here to do a work. Do your best and dont believe the facebook filters they're the devil
