When I hear about gang violence in Haiti, I always hear crimes against Haitian citizens and ransom requests for white foreigners. I never sift through those reports of violence to say, well I've never heard of a black Bahamian being targeted so I should be ok. **People dont think like that. They assess the safety of the "environment". Because bullets dont have guidance systems**.
I saw tourists driving along Wulff Road yesterday headed in the direction of East St. I see them through Kemp Road, Palmdale and Prince Charles frequently. It only takes 1 for the "*no tourists harmed*" to fall away as a nonsense argument. **With the same logic you could say, noone from South Beach was hurt**. We tried that remember? The former commissioner told us the public didnt have to be afraid because only people *known to police* were getting shot.
The environment is unstable. We need to stop spinning that fact and get serious about corruption and crime and ensure that the people we promote to keep law and order aren't there just to dress up, profile and smile for pics. My assessment? In 7 years they did nothing to stop blatant traffic violations, just allowed it to gradually get out of control. And if they didnt stop that... This is the result, lawlessness. We just upset the world point it out.
Lol, that would be funny. I still remember the coconuts on the beach with the Atlantis logo. If they go the root of appropriating illegal (assumption that it would foolishly be legal at that point) drug sales cutting out the local dealer, that would be hilarious
How will this turnover happen if tourists hear murders are happening day and night... from the cruise ship. Which would be true. I think we need to be realistic and not throw out these good news messages just to throw out a message.
"*Bahamasair release says the audit is taking place with Bahamasair and other operators, Western Air and Trans-Island. None of us are taking part in the audit. We were not involved in the audit. The audit had nothing to do with us. I speak to the FAA every single solitary day*"
If this rebuttal is factually true this would be the very height of deception by the Bahamas air spokesperson.
Agreed that was where I departed from Mr Pintard, I couldnt see how RTD could descend into unworkable environment in 2 years. They had to be in a state of decline before. What could be said is two years would be more than enough time to rectify the issue.
"*Hand signals*"? Hard rockers, wrestlers, surfers and Pacific Islanders have been using those hand signals for decades.
Maybe he doesnt like using the bunny ear/peace sign in his pics. He's young, he likes to go to night clubs like most young people, his nightclub of choice is East St because that's where he fits in and can afford the entrance fee. Plenty people had to run from fights when the Zoo was open on cable beach.
It's not immigration that's the problem, its corruption and the abundance of easily corruptible people. Corruption is almost an accepted job title in this country. Its looked at as being smart, "*knowing how to play the game*". It would be interesting if we could get real data on how many "successful" businesses got their start off drug money, bribes, kickbacks etc. Joe Ledher had plenty briefcases of money. Someone had to light the runway. George Smith RIP, apparently gave a welcome one time. We already know Sebas and Flowers started their empires off of illegal trade. Fox was convicted of human trafficking, Its assumed that he handed over all the ill gotten gains of that and started fresh. I wonder if they'll all leave when the gangs they created (somebody have to do the donkey work) run the streets.
Illegal immigration is just one form in which corruption manifests itself

This kerfuffle may all be about election campaign messaging. No change in Grand Bahama so find an evil villain to blame.
The problem for the PLP is, Freeport is not Grand Bahama. And you cant hear a peep from Kinsley Smith *fighting for his people*. Looks like he's going to be another convenient scapegoat.
